I saw the whole show, but i wasn't too impressed, because of the danger involved. Most of the cars had no safty equipment at all IE: roll cages. I saw some trailered cars, but in reality i don't think they are 8 sec. cars at a track, and like Bigray said put a real race car up against them and they would be skunked in most cases.
But it's just a TV show and it will probably go over pretty big due to the like of knowledge of most of the viewing public.

It's kind of ironic to see this sort of reality based program showing street racing, yet having the news media screaming about illegal street racing. Something is very wrong about having this type of program on TV. I suppose showing gang members selling dope and killing other people isn't too far off for the mentally challenged people that present this type of programming and the equally challenged viewers.

Bone I love the TA and I know its all personal preference what I am about to say....man if that Bad boy had a rear axle mount STS twin turbo intercooled it would take it in my book to the 10TH power SUPERBAD...

I just like different...guess thats why I pulled out the muncie in the 73 camaro and went with a 6 speed. ...Now I am thinking and dreaming Pro-Charger electronic fuel injection or turbo...its just a dream at this point.....although I do have the rotating assembly on the shelf in the garage. Sonny Bryany Billlet crank with Big Block Snout, Billet Lentz Rods, forged Srp pistons. I have also thought about one of those pump gas 500ci small blocks. lol

I did make a 1/4 mi pass but only the 1/8 mi timer was on. My combo was just slightly different. That was at beech bend about 8years ago all there weekly bracket run 1/8except the street class I was just checking rpm.

That car was square tubed from the stock k-member back, all lexan windows and stripped inside. Did not weigh much. It was really geared for 1/8th mile so when I did run the 1/4 it was running out of juice and rear end gear in the traps. It did run a 6.38 in the 1/8th once and then they sent me home cause the car wasnt certified.

Did I mention it was baby blue? :D

Ok that adds up..these year camaros are pigs on the scale stock. .. You were in the ballpark with the 6.38 et 1/8th - 10.25 1/4. I only run the 1/4 handful of times..like you I was geared for 1/8....I would run consistant low 6 teens.. Might have run a .05 at one time. anyhow same car same gear Went a 9.92 @ 137mph in 1/4.

Ok I just watched last 10 minutes of episode. I am calling BULLCHIT on a number of things I saw on THIS show...For #1 its on a shut down road and a ton of rubber laid down on the 60 ft ,wouldn't be surprised if VHT was used.if I saw right I think I saw a 60 ft timer light. Now don't know how many if you street raced in past but I came from this type racing late 70' and 80's..and I can tell you WITHOUT a doubt this ain't NOWHERE close to real street racing...AT NO time was a real street race even close to that.. Those are race cars on a prepped surface....I have NO problem saying I could round up a few local 10.5 Outlaw carsthat will cut their a$$. I will watch the midnight show to make sure I didn't miss anything but so far its a long way from a street car in a REAL STREET RACE. ...Nothing even close to a 4 second pass that I saw.. A real OUTLAW 10 tire car would eat their lunch !!!!

I watched it again at Mid night. Fell asleep before it ended. . Nahhhh I didn't miss anything the show before. ITS NOT STREET RACING OR STREET CARS AND FAR FROM OUTLAW CARS.

Most of the stuff I saw was high 6 second stuff in 1/8th low 7 sec.maybe a low 6 second car possible very high 5 second car I saw in the start of the show credits and those cars looked like the film snippet was from a track .... I am being VERY generous.

The only thing I saw that was close to street racing was the Flagman
He is not to smart my Outlaw Nova runs the 60 ft in 1.10 seconds. Flagman could not even react to get out of the way in that time frame. The 3,000 lb car is already running close to 75/80 mph at that point ( Guns Blazing)

They don't claim to be street cars....they refer to them as " street raced cars" apparently the top ten lust is real and the races are real....but they do admit to them being on a closed airport that discovery channel rented. Those cars are crazy fast for being on the street....there is video if the white mustang going very low 5's in the eighth....the faster cars on top of the list are said to be in the high 4's low 5's. AGAIN race cars ran on the street not street cars. They claim the roads are not prepped like a track but that they do burnoose with pimp juice which does put list of rubber down on the road....lots of schit talking as well. They called out anyone on YB willing to race them on the street for 10k a couple of years ago and not one person took them up on it.

she is a slow turd right now, just have one of the shop motors in it, its a SBC, made a few passes just to check the trans and the 4 link set up. only went a 11.89 LOL. but the car is Brand New, only been in the burn out box 3 times, may put a pro charger on it, but probably gonna be a blower motor, it weighs in at 2440 no driver.

Outlaw I have also seen this kind of money bet on races..I have personally been in on $1,000 bets but I have been present when 10k has changed hands. It got really hairy for a little bit. I was a spectator but knew of both camps. Tom (Topsportsman) on here from up Maine has been down here to our local track and saw the grudge gambling 1st hand. There is a lot of FAST no time grudge cars from the south. I am sure sea-level atmosphere plays its part . Go to you tube "House of Hook" grudge racing and you will see what I am speaking of. Click on the different links. Remember the name "KILLIN TIME" Steve Jackson is his name. He is a white boy who wears a sunvisor. He runs a mustang that runs 4.19et - @ 186 mph (1/8th) on 29 inch tires.. He is backed by many known and unknown black guys that has a TON of money among them. Steve is not the only racer they back ..These guys are VERY SERIOUS about locking in grudge bets for BIG MONEY. . Before my daughter was born I lived at grudge races Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. I would not carry the wife nor kid cause its too hardcore. Even when things run smooth its very loud hard ragging which is big tension. The drivers / owners almost never go at it. Its the backers and all the side bets. these guys on this new show is a joke....like I said go to you tube. Key words ; House of Hook, Piedmont (same place) Steve Jackson, Killing Time ( NAME OF HIS CAR). NDCUT. (Name of guy that shoots a lot of video). watch some of this and tell me how serious it looks.

Yes Tod I can accept race cars run on street. Makes more sense and I think that is what we have been saying all along here on this thread. But Thats not how they are selling the show. They are making people think its street cars street racing or street racing for sure..Its in their title " Outlaw Street ". I watched one show and noticed right off it was filmed on a closed concrete road,Burn out box with 60 ft timer boxes. If they are on an airport runway there would be no need for down track prep. The runways are gooved cut and provide crazy traction. It has to in order land jets in rain etc.
I am not gonna say there are no 4sec cars cause there could very well could be. I am saying I didn't see it the episode I watched and I own and Drive a 4 second door car. I know what they look like. As far as being crazy fast for the street I agree it would be but so far I have not seen them run on street. Your car Tod would be considered fast on street. Most Drag cars would be considered Crazy Fast on the street...I am sure there is some smack talk happening on YB..Always has been. I am sure whoever did not CALL by PHONE the right grudge racer or they would have got their wish. Everybody talks smack on the Internet ( My experience )..YB is king of the smack talk sites.

From what I gathered the top 3 or so on that list are in the 4's....saw a video of the Murder Nova going 4.78 at the track. That white mustang that they been showing runs low 5's .....5.20 I think....something like that...they have a few videos of it posted with the ET lights showing. I think they crazy for openly admitting the details of their street racing....plenty of evidence to show a jury in the event they kill somebody one day....just my opinion cause many of em talk openly on YB about it and now their real names are tied to their Internet names...

Not to change subject. This fathers day weekend I stumbled across a reality show called CATFISH. It was founded by a guy that was in a online relationship with a girl who turned out not to be who she said she was. So now people contact him about their online relationships to where they have never met the person..some turn out to be dudes,their friends all kind crazy stuff.

Part of the reason I have had a select few of forum members to my home not only because I like them but also to prove I am who I say I am. Yes I have been jokingly teased in past about certain projects etc. It was all good I laughed with it then validated it fairly quick. In the PAST is the reason I posted a few vids and pics. I have a respectable 70 Chevelle 3600 lb street car, It runs great numbers at the track. And as we know the starting line (up to 200 feet out) dictates the quality of the run. I know turbo chargers and super chargers change that a bit, but still holds true. Also NO2 stages affect that ,again the begining of the run is very important. That being said it hard to hook on the street or make a decent 60ft. But I am pretty sure those cars on TV are quick, but to say the fastest in the nation ?? We have some very quick cars running at No Limit Raceway (Morroco Ind)and confident that we could run with them.

Ditto. Tod, you go to the local cruise to do a few passes & ya pay the 25.00 to sign up & you get a T-shirt. You buy a bunch of parts @ summit or X place & you get a T-shirt. I have been street racing and grudge racing for over 30 years and still love to be in the middle of it all. I don't street racing anymore, do it all at the track.

Juice would you be interested in running your car at a grudge feast. I've been wanting to ride that way and try some of these guys. I have some guys with big money and sure if they see your car they would have no problem betting on it. I bet if some of the guys on here were to come we would have a hell of a good time.

wazup never ran in a official grudge feast.. everyone local always knew the car so locking a race local was Out..always ran it in 10.5 races (Steel roof, Qtrs and stock firewall ) way before EXTREME OUTLAW 10.5 everyone knew what the car ran so you know how that goes..


I would LOVE to tell you HECK YA but being 110% honest I am on the back 9 with this 4 second Outlaw racing..Many can tell you on here the family has taken the priority over racing..such as Little League baseball at the "Y". Mattter of fact we still playing in the regional tournament in lower state..

So rather than sit here and make someone believe I am ready to grudge race would be very mis-leding...I have all the stuff right here in the trailer but just not "A" gaming it right now in racing...I will roll it out in the fall when it cools off here in SC to keep bugs away....

Also I been wanting to sell the House for 3 yrs Wife hasn't agreed...but today after seeing some homes in the lower state she has conceded..So I am gonna try and get this bad boy on the market and see if it will sell..another TIME consuming project...

That's cool, I know how it is when everyone knows your car. I still have people talking about a vette I had back in 2000. I grudge raced it all over fla and won a lot with a partner of mine, after running it all over the place could not get a race with out giving up a ton so we sold it in 2001.

I know family comes first and it sounds like you have a lot on your plate. I just thought I would ask. I will hit you up if I make it up that way and see if you have any time and maybe come out and watch.

Exaggerated statement for television....but it is a bad mo fo. The show is cool I think....you gotta take it with a grain of salt....scripted drama but at least they are actual fast cars..not that fake fast and furious stuff with the fake wheel stands etc

I understand they run them on wide rims, but I have seen cars with tires claimed as 10" tires or 10.5 tires and they look freaking huge....my old nova had 32x14" slicks and some of these 10" tire cars look like they have more tire than I had....just curious where or how they actually measure them to claim them as 10" tires....or to fit in the rules.

Its measured on the foot print itself. The tire we run is a 10.5w the side wall is wider and the tire is 33 inches tall. If you look up the size difference on a true 10 tire it may go to 29 inches and much smaller side wall...a 15 inch wide wheel is used to flatten out the foot print. Your right Tod looking at a 10.5w tire from the side looks huge..but if you lay down behind car and look at footprint its only 10.5 inches wide.. Hope this helps
