HAS SUCKED!
Seriously, this year started off by wrecking my truck (I posted some pics of it when it happened), terrible sinus infection that took 3 months to get rid of, have been trying for almost 3 months to get a tag for the new truck I bout and back to the sinus infection thing. I go in Monday to have sinus surgery ( both sides) and my tonsils taken out. Yee haw, can't wait  . 45 years old and tonsils being taken out ain't no fun I'm sure.
There is a hole in my right tonsil and the doc says only thing to do is take them out.
I have multiple problems in my right sinus and the Doc has been trying to convince me for 10+ years to have it done and I wouldn't. An x ray and CT scan a few weeks ago showed a cyst in there and it has to be taken out soon.
To top it off I am starting to get a sinus infection so I don't know if that will have any effect on the surgery Monday.
I could have bought a LOT of racing parts for what I've paid in medical bills this year. Anyway, enough of my whining, hope you guys are having a better year than me!
PS. please don't tell me how bad the surgery is gonna be. I don't want to know any more about it than I already do!

Man Wabb!!! rough times. It has to be done; you have to do this. I had to have nose surgery & it all worked out (broke it). No horror stories, just uncomfortable for a week. You are tough & this will pass. Main thing: TAKE CARE of it now & invest in feeling better later. You are still young. I will pray you go through this gracefully. I worry about my nose in my boxing class all the time; but so far no damage (fingers crossed).
Eat ice cream & watch movies for awhile... do what they tell you & don't buck it. You are going to feel wayyy better when this is over. Keep us posted on the progress. Scooter

It'll be worth it Rabbit. Had my tonsils taken out when I was 4 yrs old. Was sick all the time, now hardly ever. Had 2 nose surguries for deveated septum. Went well just not sure it helped my breathing issues though.

Had my 'T's' removed between Germany and Vietnam. I take more 'sleepy time' than most, so woke up just as they were 'removing' them. Felt like they had 'em in a pair of Vise Grips and just RIPPING them out !

Medical bills SUCK! Health problems put a hold on my racing last year got them all under control now. The bills are still coming in my health insurance has a big deductable. This is holding up my racing know since I need to pull my motor down. The end result is worth it I feel better than I have in years.

Thanks guys. It's just one of those things you have to deal with.
BJ, they don't do all that packing anymore. I know it's gonna be a little irritating , but at least I don't have to deal with the packing like they use to stick in there. Doc said on a scale of 1 to 10 my surgery is a 3. Not that I believe him though.
DD thanks for that thought of the vice grips yanking out my tonsils. lol
When I looked up the address they gave me for the surgery center it's a suite and a Holiday Inn Express. They told me they except CASH only paid in advance!
I shouldn't be worried should I?
I'll let y'all know how it goes once I wake up from all the good meds I have! lol

I would not worry the doc will clean his hands with moonshine before the surgery. Just ask for a couple shoots for yourself.

Excellent choice of words for sinus surgery BJ!! lol
Well guys I'm ok. Took about 2hrs for the surgery. The fungus that I din't think was in there was really bad the doc said. If I had let it go it would have eventually gotten all the way to my brain and would have been really bad. he said it like pressure washing peanut butter to get it out.
Actually my sinuses are not that bad, but still bleeding more than they should. However, my throat is killing me from getting my tonsils taken out. Doc said he wasn't even gonna tell me a white lie, it's gonna be pretty bad to deal with at my age.
I had so many sinus and tonsil problems I'm glad I did it, now I just gotta heal.
Thanks for all the kind words and I'll be back with y'all soon!

The problems was solved my legs don't swell anymore or hurt. I could not even keep shoes on for very long it was WORTH IT. No hurting my energy is back I feel much better I am more myself.

"disco-biscuits" ... HA!!! I never heard that before. Man I thought the nose work would be worse than the tonsils. But also I have heard of most people getting them removed when they are kids too... not adults. Keep yer chin up Wabb.

It's been about 5 weeks since it was done. As I already said the sinus stuff was nothing at all. Seriously it was nothing like I expected and could have easily gone back to work after a couple of days. However, the tonsils were pretty rough. A big pain relief was the medicated lolly pops. 1-2 minute of those things and your mouth and throat are NUMB!!
One bad part was I couldn't sleep much and the worst part was I can't sit and do nothing all day. By Thursday I was dying to get out of the house so I called my boss (he's a good friend btw) and we met for breakfast Friday morning. Needless to say I didn't have much energy partly because I lost almost 10lbs in 4 days and eating nothing but soup.
I went back to work Monday (7 days later) still pretty much eating; soup, mashed potatos, mac & cheese, the occasional piece of baked chicken, drinking gatorade ( which is still the only thing I want to drink) and taking roxicet every 4 hours. No need to tell you that I went back to work too soon. Talking about killed my throat and made the recovery time a lot longer than if I had stayed at home another week.
The only problem I still had ( still have) is my uvula was swollen as big as my thumb and still is really swollen. I tried to get the doc to cut it out during the surgery, but he wouldn't and he still doesn't want to.
The doc visit 10 days later was a good report and I just needed to continue to heal and the swelling in the roof of my mouth / uvula should go away in a few months. At some point I may just get out a good pair of needle nose wire cutters and cut it out myself!
Long story short I wish I had done it years sooner and if you need any kind of simple surgery like mine was do what the doc tells you and it will make it A LOT EASIER ON YOURSELF!! lol I just don't listen to them very well when it comes to resting and giving your body time to heal.

same here I should have gone to the doctor long before I did. Letting your self get in bad shape just makes it much worse. I just hate doctors and put off going until I was down to 150lbs had no energy and my feet and legs were always swollen and in pain.

That's why I'd never say it in a public place! lol It is a pretty weird thing to have and even stranger to explain. lol
I think I dodged a bullet this week.
About 2 weeks ago my 05 duramax with 258,000 miles started knocking. It would do it under light pedal and would fade away as the rpm's got around 2,000. It sure didn't sound good and I was afraid it was a wrist pin or piston.
I checked the balance rates on the injectors and #1 was a little weak, but not real bad. I turn # 1 off and the knock didn't quit and that made me pretty nervous. Shortly after that I put almost an entire bottle of injector cleaner ( enough cleaner for 90 gallons in less than 20 gallons of fuel). Well within about 40 - 50 miles the knock quit. Man was I glad. I changed the fuel filter last night and it was clean as it always is. I also cut open the oil filter and it didn't have anything in it which is another good sign of no excessive bearing wear. I'm gonna check the balance rate on the injectors again Monday and replace # 1 if it's still weak.
Needless to say I'll be pretty happy if 1 injector is all that's wrong with it.
$350 for 1 injector is a lot better than a $3,500+ rebuild.
