Possible Scammer help required

Ad #181718426 - New complete 8-71 Weiand Supercharger kit
The issue I am having now is getting the guy Rey Rutherford (512) 650-4120 (Email address's [email protected] and [email protected]) in Dallas Texas to ship it to Louisiana as per my instructions.
He had booked it into a transport company Swift Courier Logistics in Fort Worth Texas, I couldnt even see that this company existed when I search for it on the internet and I tried calling the phone numbers provided but was never able to get through. Rey requested that I transferred $560 via Western Union to Swifts head office in Cameroon in Africa, I didn't transfer any money as I now smelt a rat. The blower is still with Rey and he is now requesting that I transfer $330 via Western Union to him as did for the original transaction so that he can ship it to my friend in Louisiana via Fedex. I have now requested the package sizes, weights, pickup address etc so that I can book and pay for the delivery myself and have it delivered.
He has now stopped answering my calls, does anyone know this guy or had dealings with him.
Any help would be appreciated, my friend in Louisiana who's car I purchased off RJ is also doing his best to help.
I'm along way away otherwise I would pick the blower up personally.

I don't know where your friend lives in Louisanna, but it wouldn't cost $100.00 to ship a blower from Texas to Louisanna.
Also the the phone number you provided is to a land line in Austin texas not Dallas Texas.
I smell rat here and don;t know how much you have already sent him, but i think you may have been taken for a ride already, and i wouldn't put another nickel in the pot. if your friend live in north east Louisanna i would have him just pick it up, or maybe you could suggest that to the seller and see how many excuses he comes up that it can't be picked up.
Just a guess, but i'll bet he comes up with some.

Another thing that makes this sound like a scam is that the PH # is in Austin and you said the guy was from Dallas, they are 200 miles apart.

I certainly wont be sending any more money, i have already paid $1500 for the blower kit ( price too good to be true). I'll post more info about this scammer tomorrow AM, my time. My freind in louisiana has a Fedex account so we will be providing that acc #so he doesnt require any further funds from me to ship the goods.
We will get this guy one way or another

Looks like his RJ profile is gone and yopu cant pull up the old ad, searched his email address's you show and see the cached ads. There was another phone number on the ad (817) 381-5887, dont know if that will help. I ran it and its says that its a landline in Azle Texas.
I hope you either get your money back or the blower.

Spoke with Rey yesterday and he now has a FedEx account number that he can charge the frieght directly too, now no money needs to change hands, I hope that I am slowly getting there??
hopefully in the next day or after easter I'll recieve a Con note #.

Hope this one works out... is does not sound good. Recovery of funds, canceling funds, etc... may be a better route at this point. In other words, protecting the money (if possible) is better than hoping a potential scammer will somehow come up with a new/usable 871 blower. Keep us posted on what happens. Good luck.

they were trying to sell that blower set up in Dallas 3 weeks ago. I called him said I could send my son down to pick it up. cash in hand, and never herd from him again, he just wanted me to send the money and he would ship the blower for free, I said F--- no. my son would bring cash, and check it out , and then load it up. and bring it home, and POOOF, never herd from him again, LOL. scammer,, OOPs my bad, that is a different blower in the Pics, but the wording is almost the same,

he has listed is in Burleson, Tx.
No doubt it's a scam but i think i would contact the Tx. Attorney General and give them the phone numbers and ad numbers and see if they can do something.
Another thing i noticed in the ad is that it says V drive belts with pulleys, won't happen, the blower manufacturers don't sell sell 871's with a V drive setup, haven't for yrs.

I now cant contact Rey, the Scammer, either by Email or any of the Phone numbers I have.
An FBI report has been filed.
This has left a very sour taste in my mouth, for all buyer, check that the phone number and the location match when looking at items, this is one quick way to check the legitimacy of the seller.

I decided to e-mail this guy & tell him I saw his ad; but that I noticed he was on RJ under the scammer forum. Below is his comment. (I sent it to the address you posted above).

I tried to buy the f2 blower that I believe this same guy had for sale. I paid through paypal, he wanted to send me the money back and have me western union it. So i said sure and got most of my $$$ back, the rest is in a dispute with paypal. His id was makehp, and swift courier service was being used....

This guy is definitly a scammer, he has my money for the blower, but now is making every excuse under the sun to take it to FedEx and use the account number that I have provided him with.
He still insists on having me transfer more money via western union so that he can ship via FedEx.
If he is reading this and is not a scammer then arrange with me to refund my money or send the blower via the FedEx account that I have supplied.
I will be happy to post a positive note if and when one of the above happens.

I have a polished Littlefield 8-71 with a set of matching 1050's with linkage for sale. BDS carb adaptor/ screen safety plate and billet BDS idler pulley. Weiand BBC rectangle port intake with pop off valve on the rear. Includes 5 pulleys and 2 BDS belts and BBC crank hub adaptor. 15" case length. Anodized rotors with recent re-strip. Striped on all 3 side of each lobe. A 40 tooth is installed on the blower and I have additional 44,40,39,34 tooth pulleys that are included. This is a very nice piece. Basically ready to install.
