I saw it on the news, that was scary to say the least, glad there was no fire.
I'm amazed that it doesn't happen more often at the peak, but even when it does it's still scary.

In the long term, pavement is cheaper to maintain than gravel/dirt. Yeah, now it's 'just' a long hill climb. STILL a tremendous challenge but the ' dirty fun' is gone. They now expect to be hit with double the entries next year and are looking to make it a 2 day event. I might have to 'Do the Peak' !
