I put the above combo on my sbc. When the engine is running, the regulator does its job of limiting pressure to 6-7 lbs. However when the engine is off and the pump is on, it will not hold the pressure to 6-7 lbs but goes up to the max of the pump -14 lbs. This causes fuel to leak out of the carb. Somewhere I read that the black pump has an external bypass port. Not on mine. At least I can't find anything but in and out. The regulator has 2 output ports, 1 is plugged, the other goes to the fuel log. Should I unplug the plugged port and run it back to the fuel tank? I really don't want to buy another pump. Any help would be appreciated.

Holley not Olley. Anyway I have since learned that pressure creep is common.

I used to have this problem ,I had a bad reg
I bought a pro systems reg from them and it did it from day one now I have the big holley reg problem fixed, I run the black pump and have no return back to cell, it holds 7.5 with motor on or off

Nothing common about pressure creep, regulator issue.
