i know i have asked this before but i still dont see a improvement. what has happened to this sight. used to be there was people on here all the time.but in the last yr or so it has shrunk to just a few diehards.take this section of the forum for example. no new posts since the 20th. why? we havent changed, have we?we still love to race and build cars .we are still all friends.when i can work i go to the shop but not before checkin in here first.id stay longer but there is no acitivity going on.i stay on the hamb alot and i mean alot. but thats because of my choise of cars.i deal only with old hotrods and cars.but i still love my rj.and believe me tqwe are alot friendlier here than there.lol anyway can someone explain to me why there is almost no one posting anymore. and you cant blame it on race season because it was slow in the dead of winter.

Summers here and lives get busy I think. I stick my head in here at least 2 times a day.
I spend a lot of time on another forum thats very Camaro specific but I always end up back here.
It has been quiet, you can always depend on Duane to post stuff up in the Vent but its mostly political and that is far from my thing.

By the way Ken, how you doing today? I actually had you on my contact list today just to touch base and make sure everything is going OK.

A few reasons I think.
We don't really let people on here with fake log in's. We regulars have real info about who we are and don't hide behind a computer. We don't post or put up with a lot of bs or nude stuff. A lot of guys get on other forums just to be smart a??@$ and we usually run those off pretty quick.

It's usually kinda quiet until somebody starts a big scam thread or some other crap. Always a bunch of post when that kind of stuff is going on.

I hope the economy is a little better for everybody and they're able to get back to the lake / river, vacations, racing, etc.!!!

Also like harb said, it's summer and it's been really nice outside for a while.

I think the economy has alot of people putting there cars on ice for the past couple of years ( trades & construction here in il are about as bad as it can get) Im one of them. After 18 years in business I have shut down my dump truck business & my truck is being sold off by a broker and is being shipped to africa, three straight years of losing my azz is done. Also just went through a split up of a partnership in properties that is 26 years old....bad times bring many changes.....hobbys are the last thing on alot of peoples minds these days.

good observation Outlaw..I been here close to a decade and each summer it slows down a lot on the forum. after racing season /vacations it will pick back up...always does :D

plus no matter what everyone else says...RACINGJUNK is the most popular sight out here, some may beg to difffer but I know 1st hand it is..Many choose other forums so they can get on there and MF you and your Family without any repercussion ...Here we do not allow that and our members or ethically bettter then this (IMO),,thats why we have a good solid core membership.

Now I do promote some good taste Ribbing,,thank goodness our guys know the line.

I think we all tend to agree that we would not mind our children reading what we post here on the RJ Forum...without saying names can other sites say this with a clear thought in mind ???? :roll: :?:

You are my bruthas. Some times some of us take too long to "check in"... I am guilty of that myself. My little ones are still in school & we have homework too. That has made things a little tough... but soon it will be summer. Kidney stones screwed up my whole life for about a week too. Been working on my 68 Chevelle some; got a cruse coming up on June 1st... can't wait for that. Juice is right; this is the best place ever still. I love the knowledge, advice, friendship, etc... & I agree with DOUBLE-"D" about the change we need in this country... gets me fired up too much sometimes.... but I like talkin' politics & God even if it is a touchy topic. That said- I can understand Harb's lack of interest in politics too. BTW Harb: did you get the pile of DOG CRAP I sent you in the mail?? LOL. I knew you would like the "Sticker" too... seemed like the thing to do. I sent Harb a miniature whoopie cushion fart noise maker, & my son's Hot Wheel 32 blown coupe.... I would not do that for just anyone... but for RJ Bretheren... it is no problem. I gotta get DD some AN's!!! hey DD: do you need any 8's?? I noticed you need 10's. I am sorry it has taken me so long... It will be done this weekend... I hope I still have some 10's. Anyways, we are all tight. I feel like I could call any of you fools/ any time!! I don't think that is RJ's fault !!
I use Google Chrome with a pop up blocker and I have never had any trouble what so ever. JMO

I am still here.

Been on vacation for a while and took in a 3 good races.

Ohio Valley had a great Saturday ET race. Over 60 cars in 1st round of 2 classes. Mostly 60-70 door cars.

Bowling Green had a 3 day $20000 race. Went on Sunday. Almost all 4 second dragsters. Over 100 in first round. Got bored at that one.

Dragway 43 in Lawrenceburg Tennesse had a great Pro Mod race. 18 Pro Mods racing for 8 spots. My friends from Illinois were there with their twin turbo 2007 Mustang and qualified 7th @4.22.

The LOWMAD Nomad won @ 3.94. Has been 3.58.

Anyway now that I am back home it is too hot to enjoy racing. Been around 100 degrees for a week or more and going to be this week too.

Been staying in the garage and working on other people rides in the A/C.

I've been working on my truck a bunch. I could write a book about all the stuff that went wrong. It got to a point it was funny. Fix one thing and something else happens.
It was all simple stuff like leaks, carb. needle stuck and filled motor full of gas. Had to go get and borrow parts. Broke a nos fitting, had to go get parts. First time ever cranking the motor the water pump died.
Literally had somebody putting a new motor on the water pump while I was in the drivers meeting. Ran over my tent leg with the golf cart. Nitrous wiring problem (my fault of course), BUT I GOT IT DOWN THE TRACK . Well one good time till the wiring problem got me.
Took the nitrous timers and wiring out and starting from scratch with a new 3 stage controller instead of the little timers and relays I had.

Ok Outlaw!
I'm just finishing up doing an in-frame on my 2440 John Deere, a 60hp 4 cyl diesel. I had water in oil, and oil in the water. The o-rings on the cylinder liners were shot. Now fixing some hydralic leaks, then I'll be out mowing weeds!
Then, back to the fun stuff. I was working on getting my 125" cm altered certified when I had to fix John Deere, so I'll finish that. Then I'm going to build a 421 sbc, Dart block, and all the good stuff to go into the altered.

Us core folks need to stick together. I think it is Summer that keeps us from being on here... I am always working on something, riding something, trying to stay in the sun as long as I can before the rain & cloudy days.

Been driving my Chevelle to work a lot, riding dirtbikes, Rv'n some, etc... but those days are coming to an end soon.

I was on the hi-way the other day in my Chevelle & in my rear view mirror I saw a blue 71 Chevelle come up right behind me... had a bug catcher & a 671... stayed together for about 2 miles... it was cool. Reminded me of the old days. That dude blew by me... I wasn't even going to try to stay with him... he gave a thumbs up & took off. He looked like Wolfman Jack. Maybe it was??? LOL. Stick around; we are a dynamic group here.

Yeah Ken, those are rare events now days when 2 Hot Rods see each other on the road... man it kills me to even say that!! Now kids have I-Phones & Toyota Prius's w/ satellite capabilities... Wait.... BBHHHHAAALLLLHHHHH!!!!!! (I had to PUKE real quick). Anyways, "Cyber-Sex"... that is the new generation here. (It is like seeing an AAR 71 Cuda w/ a slant-6 engine).... TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT.

My generation is later b/c I am younger than you. But even in the late 80's I could cruise "Central Ave" in Phoenix on a Saturday night & it was like a rolling car-show. Cops were everywhere though... women everywhere too... good times. THOSE DAYS ARE GONE. It was a season... a season our kids will never even comprehend.

Memories like 2-lane black top, American grafftti, Easy-Riders, however you define those days/or season... all we have now is a few movies, pictures, memories, etc... that can capture going back in time to define those days. I caught the last tail-end of that generation... then it was gone like a dream.

Outlaw, i spent 5 days in you neck of the woods, last week. We got there on wensday, the weather was mid 60's, then the weather droped off the map. My sister built a cabin on lookout mountain by (Mentone). We were trying to get siding and insulation on it. Man it got down to the mid 20's at nite by sat. Us with no electricty, no water, trying to sleep on blowup matresses, no heat, just what we could run with a gererator. Probably the worse 5 days i've had in a few yrs. I'm not going back until spring.

Naw! outlaw, i ain't too old yet, i still got almost 2 months before i'm 74, i'm not going to live there, my sister who is 5 yrs. younger had a shell cabin built and i was just going to help her get it livable, but the weather quickly turned too dam cold to do anything, i mean mid 40's day time 20 mph winds, mid 20's nite time. But funny it wasn't to cold to go to Collinsville to the open air market and walk for 4 hrs. on sat. I guess i'll never understand women, maybe that's why i've been divorced twice, and single since 1982.

I just renewed my Lics. on monday, they are now good until 2017, i'm hoping to renew them atleast 1 more time.

Went to Louisville. Attended the "ATA Show" (Archery Trade Assoc.) & got back recently. Never been there b4... nice folks in KY. Toured the KY derby, ate KY fried chicken, saw some cool things about Muhammad Ali while there too. But for the most part; just worked. Next Year we will go to TN closer to you (Nashville). How far is that from you? I am looking forward to that show... I bet it is nice there. How long are you going to be in TN? I have never been to TN yet.

thanks guys, it really means alot to me to have yall concerned about me.it really does.this makes the 3d mild one ive had in 15 yrs. first 2 were brought on by excessive whiskey intake! this one probably came on because of my lifestyle over the yrs.i havent drank whiskey or any other booze in yrs but i eat what i want and smoke 3 pks aday.and use narcotics for my pain management.and i cant sleep more than a couple hrs a nite. so i kinda think im runnin on borrowed time.but i gotta say ive had a ball!!but dont worry ive told my wife and son that when the time comes to make sure they get on racin junk and the hamb and tell the boys ive takin a trip.and i wont be comin back.oh and scooter if ya go to nashville next yr you will be about 2 hrs from me!
