Bad feedback for Carnut 70

I saw a 55 Chevy listed for trade on here and I messaged carnut70 if he would be interested in a trade for a nice pro street-strip 69 Camaro I had. The pics of the car lookedd awesome and it said in the ad all it needed was a steering wheel and probably a column for visual reasons. We agreed to trade and I sent some friends of mine to swap cars for me. When they got the car home it was 12 midnight so I looked at it briefly and it was put in the garage. The car is no where near what it was made out to be. The dash was mudded over all along the bottom half sealing in the glovebox and ashtray and heater controls that were still there. Bondo cracking all around the dash, no heater, turn signals, headliner turning loose 3 bolts holding the water pump pulley on and various other little things. I told him I wasn't happy and would like to trade back after I saw the car and he said no but for me to do to someone else what he did to me which I won't do. I've spent a ton of money fixing this car up since I'm stuck with it but I just want to warn people to be very careful when dealing with this guy. I'm upset with my friends for bringing it home to me but it was dusk when they got there and they said they knew I wanted it so they didn't check it over very well and felt rushed when they got there and the car is beautiful on the outside.

The console is pieced together from a Tahoe and is cracked into 3 pieces. Heck it even had the passenger side valve cover on upside down! When I brought all this to his attention he said I didn't even drive the car and only owned it 2 days so just sell it to somebody else like I did you. The car could never have been driven because the tv cable wasn't even hooked up and the electric fan probe was on the outside of the tubes so it would overheat. Its not just making the deal its whats done after it that makes you the kind of person you are. I'm sorry it took me so long to post about this deal but with traveling for the holidays plus the holidays I haven't been able to get on here as often as I used to.

I AM NO SCAMMER !!!! to respond to this accusation, I told you specifically i only had this car for 2 days, that i took it on trade, that i knew nothing about the car as i havent even gotten the chance to drive it, This is typical that you would post and try and spatter my name here, as far as my "USERNAME" is that not a little presumptuous that you would assume i am what you say, I pnly love cars, and trade as a hobby, i never try and force a trade on anyone, first of all, HE sent his friends,(personally i would never do this), 2nd of all, it was day light... It seems you were given the chance to do your due diligence , sent a friend to represent you and make the trade...seller didn't restrict access to the car for inspection.....why be mad at the seller?...this is why the public isn't allowed into auctions ....as is ,where is, no garrantee's expressed or implied.....you bought it!

I only have one username, as far as racing junk site.. when i signed up for the forum part, It asked me for a username.. so i didnt think at the time it would make any difference to use a different name on the forum... Im by no means trying to hide anything or be secretive.. just something i did with not much thought into it.. If i were hiding i wouldnt have came on here to defend myself.. I understand your concern Lively, really dont have a good answer for you other than i just used a different name for the forum when i first signed up. I have traded with carnut70 several times. He has never lied to me about any of the cars I have gotten from him. No matter what he or anyone else tells me about a car that I am trading for, I always check it out for myself anyway and if I am going to send someone after a car, it would be someone that I know and trust that knows what they are doing and knows what they are looking at. Everybodies opinion of what is nice and what is not nice is different. We all trade on these cars and sometimes we get a bad deal, but it is our responsibility to be sure it is the car we want before we make the deal. Sometimes we trade so fast that we don't have time to completely check the car out,and when the other party does not check out the car thoroughly when pick up is there, it only ends up making it bad for both parties. Not taking up for either party. If you trade for something that you did not look at in more detail and are not happy with, it is no ones fault but your own. We've all made this mistake before, you have to live and learn. I hope you guys can work this out. There is no need in talking about each other and try to make each other look bad. It is childish and in the end it doesn't solve anything.

If you still have the 55, I would like to trade something for it. So, if you see anything on my ads that you like, let me know.

I'm not saying he is a scammer only that there is alot more the car needs than was told me or advertised. I'm just trying to give everyone a heads up so they don't make the same mistake I did. The pics of the car cleverly hide the dash that had a small crack in it the day after I got it, then a week later bondo was falling out. Transmission couldn't shift do to the fact that the tv cable was shoved into the wheel well. I'm at fault for not checking the car out personally but there is a little bit of an system here not just do to someone else what I did to you. Olds 48 went and picked it up for me and he said he felt very rushed while there and the car looks awesome on the outside so he as well as myself took alot for granted about the car. His name is Jason by the way and he is from Kingston, Tn. just outside Knoxville.

That was his reply. If he was worried about restoring his reputation he would have said "hey man I'm sorry your unhappy with the car, it was your money spent on fuel and wear and tear on your truck so if you want to come swap back lets do it. The 55 wasn't in his name its got a Florida title. The 69 Camaro I traded him was way nicer and all new so I don't blame him for not wanting to trade back. Why is his reputation so bad anyway? What realy gets me about the whole deal is his attitude ( just do to someone else what I did to you).

I will but I do know his name is Jason and he's from the Knoxville Tn. area. What has he done wrong besides this? Like I said he didn't outright lie to me but when there are obvious things that are wrong with something you should disclose them. My friends went to pick it up not make the deal even though I wish they would have called me and went over the car with me on the phone. If I would have went he would have a black eye for leading me on a wild goose chase. I started this thread because I don't think he is honest and up front about what he sells or trades and to warn people not to buy anything from him sight unseen. Another thing, why would you have a different classified name than forum unless you don't want to be connected. I'll bet he signed in under the different name on accident.

Moving on... FYI, the camaro was nice, let me tell you some things about the car that i noticed and took care of before i sold it..
the bottom pully bolts were hand tight, one was stripped. everyone of the intake bolts were lose, when i pulled the motor, one of the converter bolts was totally gone and the other ones were lose, the starter was barely hanging on the engine, which i had to replace as the starter went bad.. the alternator was shot.. had to buy a new one.. The motor was out of time, because the dist. was tightened correctly.. the rear main seal was leaking, as well as the transmission pan was leaking bad as well. BUT DID YOU HEAR ME SAY ANYTHING ABOUT ALL THIS, NO, I FIXED WHAT WAS WRONG AND MOVED ON... THE difference is when i have problems i just fix them and move on instead of complaining, there are alot of people who complain about every little thing.. i do not.. these are not major issues but still needed attention, you may have not even known these thiings were wrong with the camaro, im not saying you did or didnt... but this is what i ran into when i pulled the motor.

I did not Think i needed to reply, I do know who jason wolfe is , from the race track and car shows, i can tell you this my last name isnt wolfe, and i am not the guy you think i am.. name is jason moore, and has been since the day i was born... not the same guy, but good looking out though.. When you sell something you are responsible not the guy you bought it from. I traded you not him so you need to disclose what your selling. I thought I was getting a car that needed a steering wheel and possibly a column for visual reasons not a must have. I know it needed a radio too. No big deal there. But the column wasn't even hooked up electrically and the console had a couple fine cracks like the dash that within a week became major. The tv cable not hooked up makes the car undrivable along with several other things like a hacked up wiring harness and stuff. I'm disappointed that I thought I was getting a drivable car and now I've had to do major work to this car and I'm still not done and its not drivable. I'm just disapointed.

Well it didnt really take me to long to make the match, about 10 minutes and I did it while I was working on my car so its kinda like multi-tasking. :lol:

I do have to agree with the statements about "I-40 Dragway" I personally visited the track One time, and I will NEVER Go back. was NOT a desirable experience. I have heard of several instances of cheating by the track owner letting his son enter there bounty race and cheating / by dropping the tree, or it had something to do with the start on the final race.. So the track could keep the $2500.00 in the family, I dont know about everyone else, but in my javascript:emoticon('')opinion , this sounds like a scam to me?? where i race, it would be a CONFLICT of Interest to let Immediate family members Enter Higher payout races.. He did. I just talked to the guy he sold it to. Jason had pulled the engine and told the guy he put all the accessories in the car, guy drives 9.5 hrs to pick the car up and is tired by the time he gets there. They negotiated a price and when he gets there Jason tells him the carb doesn't come with it and the guy doesn't feel like going home empty handed so he takes it home. When he gets it out the next day and starts going over everything there is no water pump, alternator, fuel regulators, lines brackets and so on. Also the front Billett Specialties comp 5 wheels were swapped for Weld draglites and there was no brand new big shot no2 system or billett bottle bracket. He calls Jason and Jason tells him he will ship him the stuff and its been a month and he hasn't received anything except a bunch of excuses. Racing Junk needs to ban him at the first sight of him using any log in tied to him what so ever.

I'm the latest Jason Wolfe victim. Jason and I made a deal on his Camaro. Turn key, or so I thought. He told me he had pulled the motor and trans but everything was ready to go. I was ok with that and made the 10 hour trip. It was 2am when I got there and proceeded to load everything up. He then informed me he was keeping the carb which was not part of our deal but I let it slide. I looked in the car and saw boxes that he told me contained everything else. I saw a radiator and shifter but didn't think I needed to go through every box. Especially when this guys keeps stressing honesty and what good is a man if you cant take his word. When I get home there's a lot missing. He says he must have forgotten to put the parts in the car. (flywheel, electric water pump, braided fuel lines, trans lines, new plug wires and a lot more, you get the point. He says he will get them in the mail Monday morning. That has been over a month. He has used every excuse in the book. Now he won't respond to calls or emails.Yes, I should have looked but I didn't know his reputation as a scammer and a crook. He kept stressing honesty and integrity. I learned a valuable lesson. I have emails from him telling me he knows he owes me these parts. I guess legal action is my only option. My behind is still a little tender from the screwing I took. I don't know how people like this can live with themselves. Just thought I would share my Jason the Liar story.

it was a fair trade on the 55, and like i said always, I told you from the begining i never got a chance to drive, that i took the 55 on trade and only had it for 2 days, i told you it looked good from appearence, and to tell the truth , i only sit in the car 2 or 3 times just to move it around.. i told you all of this... as i even told you about the patch in the trunk. You said that is fine, i want a 55, I messaged you several days and asked if everything was ok, You sent me a message telling me it was JUNK, almost a month before i heard anything from you from the time of the trade... and the other guy is all mixed up... I told him he would get the car t/k , but the motor and trans was out of the car , from a previous deal that fell through, which i didnt complain one time about. I never do, i pullled the motor and trans and traded it rolling, couldnt get a title for the car i traded for, and had to get it back. I also spent 450.00 on new drag radials for that car i took back with no title. I was stuck on that deal with the motor out , trans out, and out the cash for the tires, but no one heard me complaining..... also i should add, when i sold the camaro to chris, after weeks of haggling with him, I told him to come and get it for 23K, but that did not include the accesories, water pump, carb, etc... When he came to get it, i let a brand new engine craddle i bought just for that engine, and a NEW lift plate go with it, And that wasnt part of the deal, I jsut told him not to worry about it... there was so much back and forth haggling on that deal, it seems he forgot the final deal that was made, NO CARB, no accesories, And i did leave the distributor in the motor which was also not part of the deal.......the fuel regulator i got screwed on from the people that took the engine out , they were sneaky and kept it, i did not realize until i got home with the camaro.. AGAIN, i didnt say anything.. so if the truth be known, I got screwed on a few Items, and over 400.00 on a set of tires i put on a chevelle that i could not get a title for and had to take back to get the camaro.. the tires went flat.... all im saying is there is alot more to all this than what is being told, i have made a few bad decisions in the past.. But i also have been as honest of a persona and straight up as i possibly can be for the last 1.5 years or a little longer.. I do not drink or break any laws, and keep to myself these days... I never had any intentions on trying to wrong anyone!!! that is the truth, believe it, twist it around or do whatever.. i said all im gonna say about this matter and previous matters, i have had many good trades, and im always open to anyone inspecting the cars at any time before i trade.. it was a fair trade on the 55, and like i said always, I told you from the begining i never got a chance to drive, that i took the 55 on trade and only had it for 2 days, i told you it looked good from appearence, and to tell the truth , i only sit in the car 2 or 3 times just to move it around.. i told you all of this... as i even told you about the patch in the trunk. You said that is fine, i want a 55, I messaged you several days and asked if everything was ok, You sent me a message telling me it was JUNK, almost a month before i heard anything from you from the time of the trade... and the other guy is all mixed up... I told him he would get the car t/k , but the motor and trans was out of the car , from a previous deal that fell through, which i didnt complain one time about. I never do, i pullled the motor and trans and traded it rolling, couldnt get a title for the car i traded for, and had to get it back. I also spent 450.00 on new drag radials for that car i took back with no title. I was stuck on that deal with the motor out , trans out, and out the cash for the tires, but no one heard me complaining..... also i should add, when i sold the camaro to chris, after weeks of haggling with him, I told him to come and get it for 23K, but that did not include the accesories, water pump, carb, etc... When he came to get it, i let a brand new engine craddle i bought just for that engine, and a NEW lift plate go with it, And that wasnt part of the deal, I jsut told him not to worry about it... there was so much back and forth haggling on that deal, it seems he forgot the final deal that was made, NO CARB, no accesories, And i did leave the distributor in the motor which was also not part of the deal.......the fuel regulator i got screwed on from the people that took the engine out , they were sneaky and kept it, i did not realize until i got home with the camaro.. AGAIN, i didnt say anything.. so if the truth be known, I got screwed on a few Items, and over 400.00 on a set of tires i put on a chevelle that i could not get a title for and had to take back to get the camaro.. the tires went flat.... all im saying is there is alot more to all this than what is being told, i have made a few bad decisions in the past.. But i also have been as honest of a persona and straight up as i possibly can be for the last 1.5 years or a little longer.. I do not drink or break any laws, and keep to myself these days... I never had any intentions on trying to wrong anyone!!! that is the truth, believe it, twist it around or do whatever.. i said all im gonna say about this matter and previous matters, i have had many good trades, and im always open to anyone inspecting the cars at any time before i trade.. See this is why i either would trade complete turnkey or complete rolling, no inbetween BS with side deals and this and that is included or not included..Make is simple, either get a fully running car, or a shell. And never trade something without driving it and fully inspecting it. The 65 Comet I traded my rat rod for needed alot of work on it that the guy failed to mention, but i accepted that fact cause I was getting more car than I was giving..And Im sure for some people my Rat truck would have needed alot of work..This is why I dont hide anything in a trade cause the smallest thing will come back to bite you in the azz on here.

By looking at the add the 55 "looks" really nice. I think this whole ordeal could have been avoided if the OP simply went to look at the car himself instead of sending his friends to pick up the car for him. Granted Mr. Wolf seems to be a real piece of work, but how can you place blame 100% on him for scamming the guy with the 55 when the guy with the 55 basically opened himself up to be scammed by not looking at the car himself? Ever hear that expression "If you want something done right, you need to do it yourself"? Well that holds true time and time again. Had any of these people that have dealt with MR. Wolf simply took every safeguard to protect themselves in a deal, we would not hear about Mr. Wolf's great success in being able to come out on the winning end of shady trades time and time again.

Im not and I repeat NOT taking Mr. Wolf's side in any way, shape or form, but if your stupid enough to fall for a con mans game, and dont take every precaution to protect yourself in a trade or sale then all your doing is making it easy for the con man. The Con man wants you to play on his terms, so you need to level the field and treat every deal you do as if your about to be conned, and play the game on YOUR terms.. Would I be mad if I was the OP, hell yeah..Would I blame Mr.WOlf for it? All I'm saying is that when you trade its based on your word, lots of times people want to change things on a car to personalize it to their own tastes. The 55 is a beautiful car and I don't think I'll lose money if and when I sell it I just don't like the idea of getting a car thats supposed to be road ready and driveable needing a steering wheel, column and radio and then finding out the car can't be driven and is rigged up bad and I have to spend money and alot of time straightening out the mess, then being told to do to someone else what I did to you and I only had it 2 days so I'm not responsible for the car. I worked on that car myself.It had brand new,primo paint & body,wheels & tires,interior ( custom stitched btw),electrical...What parts i didn't put on myself i was there when Gimmethakick and another buddy put them on. That car had been driven to work and down the racetrack. It was tame enough to drive in town daily,yet you could go to the track and run 6's without ever popping the hood or spraying it. That car was a mid-hi 6 second daily driver that could have run low 6's t0 hi 5's on the bottle. Please humor me-what were the hidden issues? Other than less than perfect headers that had a few dents,i know of none. Thank you.

the bottom pully bolts were hand tight, one was stripped. everyone of the intake bolts were lose, when i pulled the motor, one of the converter bolts was totally gone and the other ones were lose, the starter was barely hanging on the engine, which i had to replace as the starter went bad.. the alternator was shot.. had to buy a new one.. The motor was out of time, because the dist. was tightened correctly.. the rear main seal was leaking, as well as the transmission pan was leaking bad as well.

I can't say I inspected the car the day it left but I do know it started with no noise from the starter or flexplate so that pretty much takes care of that, there was no knocking noise from the bottom end so I doubt the convertor was loose, crank pulley I didn't put that on it was done by the engine builder but I never noticed it wobbling or the belt sqeaking so I doubt that either. The car started under its own power so I assume the alternator was good also or might have went bad after I sold it I can't say for sure one way or another but when he messaged me he was very happy with the car and never mentioned one thing wrong with it. I brought up the issues with the 55 and asked if he wanted to trade back and he said no. I was the only 1 out anything other than my friends time but Jason didn't spend a dime and wouldn't trade back just said put it off on somebody else and thats when I posted about him. Ghustler after reading all the various posts about Jason you still seem to favor his side then I hope you and him can make a deal in the future and then you will be on here complaining about him too, and like I said I wouldn't buy or recommend you to anyone either.

1: I wouldn't buy a car site unseen without expecting some let downs because I have done it and everytime its a let down, i have stories!
2: I wouldn't trade back the Camaro for a 55 Chevy even if I found out the Camaor's engine was blowed up.
My whole involment in this is the trading a Camaro for a tri 5 Chevy, it just ercks me to think I want a 67 Camaro so bad and then someone trades 1 off for a car model I don't give a first look at anywhere there is one, if you can understand my reason.

It is very hard for me to believe that a car that went down the track on a high 6 second pass has an out of time engine. Hanging starter? Have you ever started an engine with a not-secure starter? It sounds awful. Car started fine and drove on the trailer and off the trailer in to Jason clutches.The other host of problems listed are just not true.Now it is quite possible that the alternator died.You know,alternators are not known for living forever. The console is pieced together from a Tahoe and is cracked into 3 pieces. Heck it even had the passenger side valve cover on upside down! When I brought all this to his attention he said I didn't even drive the car and only owned it 2 days so just sell it to somebody else like I did you. The car could never have been driven because the tv cable wasn't even hooked up and the electric fan probe was on the outside of the tubes so it would overheat. Its not just making the deal its whats done after it that makes you the kind of person you are. I'm sorry it took me so long to post about this deal but with traveling for the holidays plus the holidays I haven't been able to get on here as often as I used to.


If i had a car for two days and somebody wanted to trade me for something i would like even if i have never inspected the car on the trailer, i would do it, i dont know what im trading or trading for, sounds even to me.

First the 55 was not on a trailer the pics he took were in and around his property, second he sends me a message telling me how great the Camaro is if you will read back a few pages, third he takes the Camaro apart and sells it to another person and doesn't give him alot of the parts that went with it so then the Camaro has issues. Finally if you own a car 2 minutes, 2 days or 2 years you are responsible for representing the car accurately. Thats a very poor excuse.
