I know, I know, look in the classifieds!
I have better luck at word of mouth at finding cars than looking at ads.
So guys, I sold the 79 Z28. I loved the car but a very nice lawyer in Amarillo just had to have it since he owned one just like it in high school. It goes away on a transport in a week or so.
I really want a 70-73 Camaro, that the only years of the 1st and 2nd gen cars that I have never owned. Also like 70-73 Firebirds, especially the Formula's with a twin scoop fiberglass hood. The wife would like a 1977-1981 Trans Am in black. She has a Smokey and the Bandit thing that goes WAY back! I would prefer to stick with a 4-speed but will look at super nice automatics. I would like something that already has a super clean paint job, I can deal with interior, engine compartment and trim work but paint and prep sucks ars!
I am looking to spend $10-20K, moneys in the bank and I dont BS when I commit to a purchase.
So all my brothers, if anybody has something nice, let me know!
Thankss

The cars are always my second love, the wife is the first, met in 84, married in 93 and still rockin!
If I can find her a black Trans Am that she likes it will probably be her keeper. Then I will have to build a shop, so I can buy my self a toy since the main garage is full.
See where I am going here? Make wife happy, hubby has a reason to build a new mancave!

I'm with you, DD i've been single since 1982,a little over 29yrs. 2 marriages didn't work so i gave up, oppertunites yes, but i don't think i could get used too someone telling me what to do in my own house  I've got a lot of the standard problems of a redneck, drink some beer, smoke (not weed), and yes f*rt in bed etc. But i do appreciate the values of a good family relationships and applaude those that have them (most of my friends do)

Finding a T/A in a 4-speed is not easy in the 77-81 models on here. I did a quick search & found a few T/A's that caught my eye...
2356884 & 2359003. The 2359003 may not be your style, but it has a built 455 & a 4-speed... she is a "71" which I dig. For kicks, check it out... she is 10K. The first one is a virgin/all stock... very nice looking car w/ one repaint; but unfortunately she is probably an auto.

The second one is bitchin'. It is going to be a 455 torque monster & it has the bitchin' grille, equipped w/ bitchin' hood/scoops, & a bitchin 4-speed. The car is the essence of a muscle car. Ya gotta love the 2nd gen TA's Their bitchin.

Turtle... I didn't know that. I have only heard of the "Dutch Oven" strategy which is forcing covers over the opponent without their consent. Once covers are secured over the opponent, the strategy switches making sure no exit points are available to your opponent. A perfect score is achieved by the duration your opponent spends in the Dutch oven. If the opponent escapes, you must re-heat the oven & start over.

New ride bought!!!!!!!!
Here is the story, plain jane ad on RJ, very vague and only 1 picture. Says he is listing it for a friend and to call a number. I had seen this car listed before, so I called the number. Spent a good 1/2 hour talking to the guy. He bought the car a while back, had a small block and 4-speed in it. Decided to build up a nice .30 over big block and a fresh Turbo 400 and drop it in. The guy sounded like he knEw his stuff so I asked him to send me some more pictures. I get the pics the next day and here was the signature on his email.

Holy crapola Batman, its Del Worshams crew chief! I was in awe for awhile, we talked again and I apologized for being giddy cause in my world this guy is a God! So we strike a deal, he lives in Indy and where I work is about an hour and 45 minutes from there. I just wired him the funds and he is personally delivering the car to me tomorrow. I have been in a daze all morning, not only did I finally find a nice early 70's Camaro but it was owned and built by the 2011 NHRA Top Fuel Champ's crew chief. Here is the best pics I have till it shows up tomorrow. The pics are deceiving, its actually hugger orange.

Nice solid rust free car. Its not a true RS but someone installed the split bumpers on the front. Its was originally just a plain jane 350 2bbl car. Someone also installed the shorty rear spoiler thats only correct for 1970 cars but it looks great to me! The interior is starting to show its age but thats gravey work for me. The motor has about 500 miles on it and he said that when he put it back together he got a little carried away cleaning up under the hood. Ran the wires, heater hoses and tranny lines around the inside of the fenders to clean things up. As you can probably tell I (and the wife) are pretty excited! She ask him to do one thing for her, sign the inside of the trunk lid and he obliged. He is a great guy to talk and deal with. We talked about all the changes at Al-Anabi and he was just as shocked as everyone else that Larry Dixon left the team. Said he knew Del was leaving but is looking forward to having Balooshi and Langden driving this season and they just got back from a test & tune in California that turned up some great numbers.
I will post up pics tomorrow when the new car arrives :!: :D

Nice looking Ride Bone !...you gonna break down and do the 5 or 6 speed when you convert the tranny ? I am glad to hear you struck that Deal !
not to skip subjects but I am Knee deep in My 6 speed conversion....got the bell housing off and found a crack in it..
having the drive shaft shortened 2 inches, took out the center force clutch and replaced it with a Ram, having the plate resurfaced...went with a New long shifter and Of course a Richmond 6 speed tranny.
Here is the pleasent surprise. I thought the car was going to have a 3.73 gear in it and I was prepared to change it to a higher gear to have the best of Both Worlds with the 6th speed..So when I pulled the rear end apart I immediatley saw it had a after market richmond gear...counted up the teeth and someone put a 3.08 back in it with a P/T unit that looked brand New YES !!!!! that saved me that expense because my plans where to replace the 3.73 with a 3.08.
another good thing is it has a 10 bolt rear end but its a 8.5 carrier which is just as strong as a 12 bolt...THE car will never have any slicks on it trying to make dead hook passes at the track...the most I could ever see is a set of radials and a mild pass just to have Fun.
Now the Next step is to send off the carb to APD and have them convert the CARB to Run E-85....Several local Spinx gas stations carry the E-85 and its about .50 cents cheaper on the gallon then 93....I know it burns Quicker ( This stuff is Alcohols twin sister ) and with it being 105 octane I can afford to angle Mill the heads a little and run a little more compression whenever I freshen up the engine.
I want to say its most likley 10:1 right now..I'd say taking it 12:1 running e-85 would be some decent gains in HP and TQ
But back to you Harb.,..give us some more shots when you get the car home...and congrats My man...I LUV IT ALREADY IN THE PICS YOU POSTED. Also I plan on the shorter spoiler and split bumper myself...thats a killer look on any 70 to 73 camaro IMO..

Well the new ride is home and I spent about 6 hours last night going over the car top to bottom. Brian said he bought it 3 years ago out of Grand Rapids Michigan, his home town. When he bought the car it had a small block and a 4-speed. He thought it lacked power so he bought a 454 rotating assembly from a friend, got some 781 big block heads, all new stainless valves and some new springs, rockers and hardware. Stuck a shop prepped Turbo 400 behind it and took it to some car shows and the track a few times. Had a bunch of timeslips running anywhere between a 12.03 to 12.20's. The car is geared with a 3:08 so she would easily be in the 11's with different gearing. He hadnt driven it much this year (to busy winning a Top Fuel championship for Del Worsham I quess!) so the wife told him to sell it. Looks like somebody tore this car all apart about 10-15 years ago, installed a 1 piece floorpan, painted the car properly. I can find very minumal filler at the bottom of one of the doors and at the top of a wheel well. Powder coated the subframe and all the front suspension and put it all back together. The interior is tired but thats gravy work. The paint looks great and it is a super bright Hugger Orange. Brian custom built the exhaust after installing the big block and its a work of art! He obliged my wife and signed the bottom of the trunk deck for me and said to keep in touch. It was the coolest thing to happen to me this year and I think he was kind of humbled that the wife and I knew so much about him and the NHRA. I am going to restore the warped dash and inoperative cluster. Recover the seats and some misc interior trim. The under hood is perfect and he did a great job on the install of tucking everything away nice and clean. Now when he bought the car it had a "By Berger" dealer emblem on the rear panel and a Berger Performance sticker on the bottom of the hood. Might have to check with them to see if they have any history on the car. The paint has a scratch on the left fender that he did when reinstalling the hood and a small crack above a wheel well that looks like a tire rubbed, beside that its gorgeous! The bottom of the steel cowl hood, door jambs, inner trunk deck and everything was done very nice.
