Nice Spib. She looks like she hooks & launches very well.

My favorite pic is on the cover of Hot Rod mag about 2 months ago... it is a 55 Chevy Gasser in candy red with 70's graphics all over ... lifted 2 feet in the front... red tinted windows & blown BBC... the essence of BADAZZ.

Love it Wabb. The wheelie-bar wheels... dang. Love the headers bulging out... it looks like she is dialed in... the front has max rebound & the back looks like max compression!! Killer launch.

Dirk- she is nice... that green is my fav. She looks a lot faster than Lighting McQueen.

BBC: didn't know you could twist a first-gen that much!!! LOL!! Seriously... I am not sure how the windshield molding stays on!!

DD: I would crash it. It is best I stay away from that sport. The Doba is a work of art. I saw the build pics a few years ago... it would kill me if I crashed it... all that hard work.

Hamma: the graphics are awesome... pretty imposing looking dragster.

DRTCR: don't know much about racing dirt; but indeed that 4-link looks like it is working well. Here in Oregon you would be called an OSU football fan for sure w/the colors. She looks good brutha.

bcw49: That is a fine 55. You can't beat a 55 Gasser in Black satin... glad to see the tires neatly tucked into the fender-wells & not radius... I think they look so much better that way. Well done!!

Thanks Rigs. I just cant wait till I can get my hand son her and drop a really nice motor under the hood as well as get some fresh paint on her. She is going to look awesome with the wild paintjob I want to do on her.

Hi,I've had this 57 for a few years now but this year I finally got it running decent. It ran 8.09 at 164 with a single 4bbl 555 Reher-Morrison engine and has a T-210 Rossler trans and fab 9 floater axle rear. I'm hoping a 7 second will be next. This photo was taken from a fan in the stands. I was quite surprises when he gave it to me!
My wife and 2 kids(aged 7 and 5) are in that gray Chevy truck waiting to tow me back!

Thanx. We enjoy doing projects together and car talk. He's kind of the envy of all his friends. It seems none of his friends have a father/son relationship like we do. Even guys I work with tell me all the time, I wish my dad was like that when I was growing up. Cars, remote control racing, video gaming, I guess I'm a big kid at heart. Nothing wrong with that.

It's 200'.
I'd love to go back to racing 300', 330' or more, but most places don't have a safe enough track to go that fast or have enough shutdown.

Here's another one.
It rained about 1 1/2's between passes and it was pretty nasty.
This pass was in a Consistency class. (motor only. no nos ) You get two passes and whoever has the closest two times wins. Usually if you're more than .0010 difference you don't even get in the money. Sometimes this class pays as much as $5,000 for 1st place. It's not unheard of to have a $10,000 purse.
There's a 75 or 80 truck count minium to pay the full purse.
That use to not be hard to do a few years ago, but it's pretty hard to get that many now.


I really wish I could find a video of the first pass. I hit a big rut about 3/4 track and jumped it :D.
I sit so far back in the cab I hardly feel much of the wheelies or the truck moving around. It's like a Sunday afternoon drive to me :wink:
