this guy makes a trade deal with me, after i finally get in touch with him tonight , he says he has a guy coming with cash tomorrow, if he dont show up.. he will let me know tomorrow.. he made a deal with me to trade. He messaged me first with the offer.. I say yes, He p.m's me his address so i can map the drive out, i have been talking to a driver and setting up this weekend to go take him my car..and do the trade.. after 4 days of wasting my time telling me " WE HAVE A DEAL" he tells me this crap tonight.. this is not the way i do business, if you make a deal, then you stick to the deal.. a guy comes along with a better deal.. then he tells me tough crap, after ive been setting this up for the last 4 days.. he tells me it has to be on the wknd.. AM I WRONG , OR WHEN A MAN SAYS HE WANTS TO TRADE, AND WE BOTH AGREE TO TRADE.. THEN THATS WHAT YOU DO, YOU DONT B.S. AND TIRE KICK AND JERK SOMEONE AROUND TILL A BETTER DEAL COMES ALONG.. PEOPLE JUST P**S ME OFF.... KEEP YOUR WORD!!!! ALL IM SAYIN... ANYONE ELSE KNOW HIM , PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT...

That is not saying lets make a trade, don't you ask someone the price??... You have been trying to get this car ever since I first listed it... anyone can check my record... I've been on here sence 2003 and himself 2011...

Tough topic people.
I am not here to take sides on this one. No deposit was made, no written agreement with price, delivery, or deal was closed. This is one mans word against another. But a "scam"... I think that is strong word for verbal agreement that never actually closed.
Lets say you are negotiating a trade/deal... and in the span of a few days, a better offer is introduced by someone else? Should a seller (or buyer) be able to accept that offer if no trade is actually made? no deposit is made? No contract is documented? I say yes. That is freedom.
The issue here is one mans time & effort was allegedly wasted prior to a deal that fell apart. Does that make the other person a scammer?
On the other hand, a mans word should be worth something too... if he commits to something, he should do it. But in this case, no documentation is provided & signed by both parties. I would be upset if I had my heart set on a deal & it fell apart due to another motive, but that risk is always there.

I know that PS1000 is not calling him a "scammer" necessarily; but I just felt like if a guys name winds up in the "scammer forum" it is a harsh place to be when you never had an actual transaction/deal. Again, not trying to take sides, sorry it did not work out. This is an emotional buisness when entering into trades with our primary passion... cars.

We had one just like this a while back. I'll say it again. IT SUCKS IF A DEAL IS AGREED UPON AND ONE PARTY BACKS OUT, BUT IT IS NOT A SCAM.
And I would not go so far as to say the person is not trust worthy.

i do agree.. it is not a SCAM, my mistake for putting it in this section of the forum.. But yes, we did verbally agree to a trade deal.. but that is just my word against his.. i was just pissed , so i should have paid more attention to what section i put this in.. i apologize for that.. however, i DO NOT apologize for saying he DID NOT keep his word when we both verbally agreed to trade. 2 days prior to him backing up and telling me he had a guy coming with cash, he would not repond to my emails or calls.. just before that we did make a deal to trade, the only thing that was pending , was WHEN and where the exchange would take place.. if your emailing me your address and tell me the wknd is better for you, that in itself is pretty much saying we have a deal.. and besides that, you told me via the phone that we had a trade deal. in any case, im over it now, and moving on.. my bad for listing it in the scammer section of the forum.. but i still say his word is no good... thanks , and i wish everyone a HAPPY THANKS GIVING!!! even the guy that didnt do what he said......

i can see both sides to a point but imo if a deal is implied or expressed then it should be kept on the old principal of first come first serve. but a guy does have a right to back out or change his mind on a deal with out having his name smeared as a scammer or anything else i would just leave it at deal that didnt happen and go on

Hey prostreet it says scammer or feedback so don't be too hard on yourself. Also if u in the market for a 67 nova I got one that I can almost guarantee there is not many like it around. 10 inch tire car 3000 lbs will run in the 4.60s on the gas and 5.40's on motor And this is with a 3.60 gear and 33inch tall tires. The car also looks good (different) and sits really low. Ask rabbit about the car he seen it in person

So its accepted policy to never commit to a sale even if a guy is on his way or standing right in front of you, it would be OK to take a payment from another guy standing right next to him?
When is a deal a deal?

We've been through this same thing several times on this forum.
I think we all agree that a man should keep his word IF a deal has been made. Even if it's a verbal agreement I think it as good as done (IMO), however, without a deposit or signed agreement both parties still have the right to change their mind.
I look at it this way. What if the buyer decided at the last minute (maybe he was already there) he did not want to buy (or something happened while he's on his way) and he doesn't or can't buy the car? It seams to be more "excusable" if the buyer backs out.
It's no doubt a hard subject to deal with, but I still think either person has the right to change his mind.
