750-1050 Dominator Carb.

I have a 58 Plymouth 4000 lbs I have been running a STR-14-45 Intake on it with a 750 Dominator.
I change it to a TM7 with a 850 and piocked up a couple of tenths, Well I love the looks of that big ol STR-14 Manifold all polished out.
Well I am trying to come up with a 14-4 top , but my real question is, I was running a 750 Dominator and it was a little small and If I can't come up with the right top to put my square bore carb on Would I be able to jet a 1050 down and make it work on there. :)
I would like any imput you can give me.

You might want to check out the Holley website. There's a calculator for figuring out carb size. Most people use way to big.

Could you use a 4150 X 4500 adapter? There is one that is 1" thick. Then you could use your 850.

Yea The 1050 would be to big for the 58 , so I will have to keep trying to finhd another top. I love this manifold on the 58 it looks great and works good, It is puts my carb a little close to the hood. I need to put a sanitary scoop on it. I have a couple of extra hoods. I hear you there lots of people try to rn to bigger carb and right now I think the 850 is the right carb for it. I had a 750 Dominator on it and I went to a TMT with a 850 4150 and it picked up a bit, I think with the 850 and the Str manifold it will help a little more.

Could you use a 4150 X 4500 adapter? There is one that is 1" thick. Then you could use your 850. I have no hood clearence for an adapter right now, I am trying to come up with a nice sanitary hood scoop to put on her. I have a couple extra hoods so That would not be a proble. Thanks for you help.

You can have different booster banjo's installed on your 750 to gain airflow. The 750 is nothing more than a 2 circuit 1050 with big skirts to stuff up airflow. Those banjo's can be cut down if you have access to a lathe, depends on how deep you want to get into it. If not, my suggestion would be to send it to someone like BLP to have them set it up for your needs. Realize though that the intake may be at least part of some of the ET loss.
