its a 75 chevy vega backhalfed car with ford 9 in rear w/4.56 gears with ladder bars and coil overs. im running a 383 putting out 485hp and a glide. right now its aver. 1.52 60's and a best time of 10.92 @ 122mph in the 1/4. the car leaves straight but it doesnt stay consistant ... it will run from 10.92 up to 11.10's... im cant figure out why?

Are your 60 fts varying about as much as you ETs?
Raising the ladder bar one hole will make it hit the tire harder. Whether that will make it faster or more consistant is an experiment to find out.

The higher the bar, the more tendancy to wheel stand. The lower the bar, the more tendancy to spin.

so if it increase traction..... does it change anything else as far as handling down the rest of the track? i looked at my bars and they are in the middle hole.... i have 2 more higher up and 2 below. should i go 1 hole up or 2 up?

I would go up 1 hole from where are now, a big percentage of vegas with ladder bar, tend to wheel stand easy, thats my oberservation, so take baby steps, as not to miss the sweet spot, you are changing ic as you make these adjustments.

I would adjust it to maintain, what ever angle you have now. it may only need a degree or two down if any, but check to make sure.

well... moved the bars last night and ran it today :) it hooked hard and ran faster and faster every time out.... got her down to a 10.78 at 123.4 mph :) note to self... need to raise wheelie bars..... i didnt realize they were now only an inch of the ground... i believe i was riding them down the track once i put load on the rear end......... the wheels are alot smaller then when i started too.......

Good deal, what were your 60 ft times, and what tire pressure, may be some more there, when you set bars don,t set them too high, you may see more blue sky than you would like. :)
