Whats does a reverse valve body do to a transmission?

I'm looking into buying a C4 trans with a reverse valve body and a trans brake but I don't know what the difference is from a standard valve body Can someone please help me.

Instead of the shift pattern being P-R-N-3-2-1 it will become P-R-N-1-2-3.
