i can understand what they want to accomplish and maybe the need for it, but i think its gone to far.drug tests to me are a invasion of privacy.how many of you would have flunked a drug test in your day.high school kids have to take one to play sports.hell some schools make kids take one just to drive to school.this is a FREEsociety. atleast it was.this is not the way to stop drug abuse or save your money from going to dopers.if we give in on one step whats next.in a free society we must take the bad along with the good.

Yep, agreed. I did drugs when I was younger... it was a "choice"... a choice to BREAK THE LAW that has always been there. No one paid for me to use the drugs either... which is what we are doing for some... use drugs, starve the babies, & wait for a check in the mail... that is not freedom... that is STUPIDITY on the GVT. They still have freedom to choose to break the law & use; they can figure out how to pay for it another way... like get a job. They can choose to take a drug test or not too.

i take a drug test once a month. and if i dont have narcotics in my piss then i dont get my pain meds.and no it aint welfare paying for it.i do and i dont like to take it period.how much more freedoms are you willing to loose. i got a idea, lets pass a law that says you have to be over 21 to eat a a mickey d.that way there are no fat kids.lets outlaw beer and whiskey so there will be no more drunks oh yea tried that.i said i agreed with what they were trying to do, just not that way.and by the way i hate welfare, needed or not.ive been broke and without a few times in my life and i got back on my feet by myself.and ive helped a family member or 2 that was in need, thats what should be happenening here.let all thier familys help them not me.

Outlaw: we at least agree on part of it. If there were another way, I think it would have been purposed. You & I both know these dangerous drugs. But lets not BS EACH OTHER here... The drugs you are on if abused, WILL STOP YOUR HEART when you go to sleep. Happens all the time my friend... knew someone that DIED two weeks ago that took a many oxys... a woman who was 33 & worked everyday & lived w/ pain like you. She was a good person who went to sleep & NEVER GOT UP. I have said this before, the doctors do not want to be responsible for your addiction & possible over dose! Would you??? The fact you have to piss in a cup to get high powered opiate-derived drugs is not unreasonable... you do have a freedom of choice. It is not about you & having to piss in a cup... it is about a physician's PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for you NOT DIEING from their efforts to help you with pain. Face it: you know your physically addicted, they know you are addicted, pain stops all rational judgement & we live in a sue-happy world & you COULD NOT pay me to be responsible for addicts who take extremely DANGEROUS opiates like Methadone, Morphine. Oxycontin, etc etc.... MUCH LESS anyone who is getting funded by TAX PAYERS to do it!!! YOU CALL THAT FREEDOM?????? I CALL IT BONDAGE!!!!!!!

that completely diff........i know a few people that due this.... they came right out and told them the only reason they are testing is to make sure they are taking them and not selling them on the street.... they are getting like $8 to $10 dollars for 10.5 hydros around here at the tax payers expense

UR right... I misunderstood; I guess you can have a test for both reasons... makes sense. At any rate, BOTH ways are justified as far as i am concerned. The Dr/pharmacy should not be responsible for O.D. or drug dealers selling them on the street... pee in a cup. don't like it? Don't pee in a cup.

Outlaw: Don't do it. You & I have talked about this before, that is how you you will die. Stay the course; keep taking what you have to take but don't give up. I should not talk about drugs on here- it is a passionate subject for me... I mean no ill-will agaist you. YOUR SITUATION IS DIFFERENT. I am talking about recreational users that ruin it for tax-payers & people like you!! Heroin combined with anything else is a dead-end bud. It will only last for a short time & not make the other prescribed meds not work well. Everything takes a back seat to that stuff!! Scoot

ok guys.ive had time to calm down and see i was being a ass.but im not sorry for my stance on drug tests.i saw this kinda shi- coming yrs ago when they first started doing them. in the early 70s i went to a hs in elgin il.it was run like a college campus.no clas that period then out in the park across the street until the next class. i was in the park alot, with the freaks and greasers and gearheads and jocks.(me i was a long haired gearhead lol), anyway we all smoked and took our share of goodstuff in that park during school. no drug tests.the jocks when on to play their sports and gearheads went on to buildin their cars.i still know a few of them people and they all turned out fine.what we did on our own time was our buisness. not the coaches or the shop teachers.nobody but ours.i still feel that drug tests are a evasion of privacy.when our drug laws were being written backm in the 30s they couldnt fiqure out how they could tell a person what they could or could not put in there bodies. hence the stamp act came into being.you could grow smoke your dope but you had to purchase a federal stamp.now the catch was they never produced one.so no problem with freedom of choice.if you give on one little freedom you will in the long run lose it all. it may sound good at first, hell it may even help some at first. but in the long run ,over time you will lose them all.you want to save your tax dollars, your going aFTER THE WRONG PEOPLE.TRY WASHINGTON FIRST.do a search and see where you money really is going. this welfare system is nothing compared to what we give the rest of the world.i dont mind welfare for those who truly need it.i dont like the ones who abuse it.but i have lived in the drug world and believe me they cant buy hardly any dope with the welfare checks they get. not if they are a addict.i know im kinda rambling on here but its hard for me to put into words what i really want to say but you can get the idea.if i pissed some of you off that was not my intention.what i really wanted was for you to see that by giving up one freedom you are opening a very scary door.just look atb the gun laws we have now. did it stop crime no.did it stop criminals from getting guns no.did it make it harder for citizens to aquire firearms yes. in some ill. citys you cant own a handgun at all. no exeptions. at least in nyc you can get a firearms permit.it will be the same with the drug tests.
