700R4 Mechanical speedo to electronic speed swap

Most places I have searched go with the electric speedo back to cable conversion. I need to go from cable to electronic. I have a blown 700R4 with the electronic speedo. I have been told that the plastic reluctor wheel for the electronic version is held to the output shaft with a small black clip that may not work on the cable version output shaft. I am not going to pull a fresh transmission all apart to swap tailshafts if this is true, I will have to find a plan B. Does anyone know for sure on this mechanical to electro swap?

it should be pressed on if i remember right, you should be able to pull the gear off and tap it on your tranny
