You could try the old racer's trick, which I believe still works for the 91 Caprice... jack the rear axle up in the center until both wheels are off the ground, then spin one rear wheel. If the other wheel spins the same direction it is a limited slip or posi. If it spins the opposite direction it is an open rear end.

here is the GM part number for the posi additive
#1052358 retails for $12.65

You can also use the Mopar part number for the appication
#4318060AB retails for $7.67

Any GM or Chrysler, Dodge dealer should have this stuff in stock.

Just add the bottle and top off with the appropriate weight gear lube

Always doggin' on the Mopar's, especially Mark's. I know your stuff is so fast. Why don't you put your money where your mouth is and run him. Lets end this once and for all. I know how it will end. I got a $100.00 I'll put on Mark you want to match it?

Back to the original question, most modern gear lube you dont have to use the additive anymore..havent put any of it in anything since the mid to late 80's

Why would I try and beat you down? No need for that.
As for my mind, I'll probably seek professional help for that.

You are both good dudes. I think it is the "e-mail tone" that differs so much from the human tone you guys are used to at the track or in person.

Sam: the way I saw it was you were about enter the monthly the Ford/Chevy/Mopar/Yugo/Peugeot (love that one)/Fiat (Suicide will get me for that)/WHATEVER bashing roast.... but it took a turn when El~SUPERBEASTO turned the tables & made a drag-wager bet. No harm done...

Anyways, the diff secret is "QUADRATRAC"... that is right boys.... pour some of that crap in there w/ some Slick 50 & she will amaze ya. (Not even Chuck Norris knows this)
