IT HELPS TO CHECK FOR TWISTING OF THE SIDEWALLS AT LAUNCH AND WHILE GOING DOWN TRACK --I WAS TAUGHT
you can use a camaro to see the movement in slowmochine .
WE ALSO PAINTED A MARK ON THE RIM WHERE IT TOUCHED THE TIRE TO CHECK FOR SLICK MOVEMENT AROUND THE RIMS DURING LAUNCH

Its cool to watch the launch on Fuel cars when they play it back in hi-def slow motion, the abuse those tires take is incredible!

You don't need the stripe on a Ford. If you can't read the letters on the sidewall it means he's in the burnout or driving through his own oil.

You're right the camaro works perfect. Just look out the driver window of your mustang and you'll see the camaro's rear tire.
