Actually I think it's a random test. Not for all of them. It's a step in the right direction. Why do I have to pass a drug test to get a job to support people that do drugs? (I know not all welfare recipients are drug users)

It's the BAD APPLES that put a stigma on the whole group, just as in the IL-legal immigrant 'issue'.

4th -5th -6th generation welfare families / drug gang IL-legals vs just plain hardworking folks who lost jobs and REALLY WANT to get back to work / hard working immigrants who REALLY WANT to be American and meld into American society.

i know drug tests are suppose to weed out the bad apples.but i have a problem with them. one, its a stepping stone to BIG BROTHER and 2,have any of you ever had to fight a positive test when you didnt take the drug that showed up. i have i take a piss test once a month . i have to test positive for metodone and oxycodone. if its not in there they will not give me my prescrition.if any thing else shows up again no meds for me.i didnt take nor have i ever taken the drug that showed up. they would not retest me, until i said i was going to go to a independent lab and get the work done. but if they wouldnt have retested me on the spot, i would have been without my meds, meaning exteme pain and also withdrawls.OUCH!!

The reason they want you to test positive is to be sure you are the one taking those drugs and not selling them / giving them to somebody else.

A drug test done by a lab is cut in half. They test it, if it neg. they throw the rest away. If it test pos. they send the other half to another lab. Depending on what the drug was that showed up it may only be in your system for 48hrs that's why you can't test somewhere else even they day they tell you. It's too late in most cases.
In order for a drug to test pos. it has to have so many parts per million. With the amount they allow (ppm) there is no doubt it is a positive test if it test pos.
On the other hand it is possible, but not likley to have gotten a test mixed up. May not even have been the sample itself, (most are labeled with the tested person watching) but when it was keyed into the computer.

I have dealt with just about every crazy situation you can imagine with drug test / test results.

rabbit, i know why they have me do it and im dont really blame them, but at this one dr. office i have sat in the waiting room and listened to people yelling they didnt do that drug.and one of them was a grandpa old enough to be my grandpa and im 55.anyway to me its just more uncle sam moving in on me and more chance of errors that it damn near impossible to fix so you can go home with your meds.man i dont even remember the point i was trying to make lol

Lively you are right. You would be supprised how much adrenaline changes your body / mind for a few minutes. I have my own pain issues in my hip and back. That's how I got back into racing. I was a really good amature golfer and played every weekend, but had to quit because the pain was too bad. (this month is 6 years of it) Anyway, you would be supprised how the pain goes away when I suit up and go down the track. The bad thing it comes back in a little while, but for those few minutes it honestly does go away.

rabbit you dont know how much i appreciate what you said.i dont mean to sound like im being a pu--y.its just whats been holding me down for a long time now and im really tired of it. i have to take a lot of narcotics just to get out of bed every morning. i dont mind its just they are making it harder for me to get them i go to a pain clinic every month and its humiliating.they have me empty my pockets in a basket. then i get patted down. looking for someone elses pee.they then have me pee in the cup. while they are checking it, i see a nurse who takes my blood pressue. asks alot of quetions. then if every thing is good i get my script and its written to a drug store of my chosing. and then only they can fill it.if they are out im stuck until they get more.the dr. makes out my script for 15 days then i have to go and get the next 15 days.so they split my meds. 15 days worth then i gom get the next 15 days worth. i got to plan any trip to those 15 days. if i go some where out of town, i have to make sure its not in the time limit of those 15 days.what im trying to say is if my refill falls on a sat. and i want to go out of town on a fri till sunday type deal i cant go because i wont have the meds to make it thru the weekend.and i have missed alot of car shows and bike rallys because of it.. ok im done bitching.i feel better now {pills are startin to work}lol!!i only brought this up because i needed to let everyone know whats been up with me,now they know so im done talkin about it thanks guys for letting me vent this out. you all are great. thanks again ken

I am so sorry Ken... You are jumping through some hoops... We are talking about the synthetic version of Heroin... doctors, pharmacists, pain clinic's, etc.... they have their butts on the line over this. These drugs are a world-wide problem/epidemic. Average folks do not know how addictive & how much opiate narc's are screwing up people these days. Guys like you have to really bend over to get them. These pain clinic's need to accept they are helping you mange pain and addiction at the same time... so many of them do not really accept that. So your addicted.... denial on their part will not change your needs. Addictions are progressive... they need to be managed properly so you wake up the next day. We all want to see you wake up the next Ken!! I wish you did not have to go through this buddy. Hang in there!

well i wasnt gonna say anything else but. i know people are becoming addictted to the drugs i use. some die from od. i dont care. what ever happened to personal responcibilty. they all know the risk involved in using these drugs.tho, i do understand the need to regulate these drugs, some pain clinics are closing because the gov. is in there buisness on every sript written. everyn narcotic script written in alabama is now recorded in montgomery.i wouldnt be a pain dr. with all the hoops now days.i told my dr. i dont care about addiction. i will not hurt anymore and if that means i hhave to buy herion at way higher prices and risking jail so be it. i will not hurt like this anymore.
