For the past 11 years I've had to travel 2 1/2 to 3 hours to race. I was at a meeting yesterday. As soon as the weather breaks, construction is going to start on a track about 15 miles from my house. It's going to be 1/8th mile and supposed to be all concrete.

Nearest tracks to me are 80 miles away, they were supposed to be building a new facility in 2006, 20 miles up the road, but the economy wiped out the guy trying to make it happen. I sold my drag car in 2007 because it got to expensive and time consuming to go to the track every weekend. I am hoping somebody picks up where the other guy left off and makes the new track happen! I will be looking for another drag car as soon as they do!

The guy involved in this track is retired from the oil & gas industry. He has the property and announced yesterday he has enough money for the facillity. And he's a car nut. :D

Great news.
The nearest 1/8 mile track to me is 2 hours. Nearest 1/4 mile track is 3 1/2 hours. They closed our tracks close to me. :(
