Has anyone ever built a bigchief BBC with 10 to 1 compression?
Is this possible?
And run it on the street?

thanks

Just curious, why do you want to run Big Chief heads on the street? Thats a lot of money in heads and valvetrain parts. Not to mention the maintainence. But it's your money and I'm sure it could be done.

I was thinking of doing just that, after seeing a buddys stuff, but its good for a full race application, now that I`ve looked into it, if you want the full effect of the power you can build, and its way too much for the street, unless you need big power, ,in say a 5000# truck. lol. easy to build the compression , dished pistons, for one thing........for a good burn..

I know a few people who have or had them in street cars, 572ci stuff, easy on parts and no issues.

you can run whatever head you like. it is not the fact of what valve angle or design is as much as what you want and if you want to be like everyone else. the big chief head is a great street head that will produce over 50+ hp over a conventional head. it looks really tuff when you pop a hood and see the massive heads in there. looks like a boss hemi or something. if I had them you bet I would run them. they like big inch's so don't be scared to go with a 598 or even a 632 they make pistons for the 10:1 compression so the sky is the limit here.
