Anyone from Louisiana tried any seafood from the Gulf yet? Reports say it is safe, but I would rather hear it from a native.

They are selling Jumbo Shrimp around here at $5.00 a lb. but i haven't bought any yet. From what i understand all the catches are tested before packaging and if they find oil the whole catch is dumped. I would'nt be afraid of it, but like i said i haven't purchased any yet.
Zip.
PS i can also buy 31 to 40 size peeled and devained at WallMart for $5.00 a lb. probably imported.

I havent tried any " bonified" GULF seafood yet, come to think of it I havent even seen any....
I did see a truck today selling shrimp on the side of the road, I didnt check their prices or where it was from.
On the side of the truck it just said "- - - - shrimp"
It was obvious they whited out the gulf part...lol

My wife and our family went out last nite and we had fried shrimp, grilled shrimp and seafood platters all from the Gulf and they were as good as ever.
