The only 8 3/4 out there is Mopar. You SURE it's an 8.75 ? They have a drop out punkin like the 9" Ford, and are usually pretty bullet proof.

im sure it has a 742 case with the big pinion, dumps out the front, like i said this is the second ring gear ive put in it but this time i put a rearend backbrace on it.do you think that will help the gear last?

The backbrace will help to some extent, but eventually you will need to move to the steel main caps and billet adjusters to get to a point of decent life from the gears. At the point it's better to just move on to something else.

I have the same problem, was thinking of going to 35 spline spool and axels, checked with rear end shops, strange, moser and others they all said same thing, will break ring and pinions, this yr with new motor, and glide with brake, only left on 3500 chip on 2 step, next yr going to a dana 60 with 40 spline, want something that will live and then can bring chip on 2 step up more, will not put money in my mopar 8 3/4 will put in another s10 for wife
