what to do ?? elec or mech pump

hello this is my first post on any forum I have 1966 impala ragtop with healthy 427 bbc 400 trans car came with elec pump no name on it though pump is not keeping up I have new Holley mech for motor but people around here say stay with elec please help 427 bbc 11.5:1 comp full roller edelbrock performer 750 headers and race mufflers car is street driven
