man , looks like a LOT of work left to do for that kind of money , BUT ,it depends on what YOU want,,,half the fun to me is in the build....it definitly has potential..

Signs, I agree with maniac. Lots of work left to do for that kind of money.
It's a buyers market right now. Unless you got money burning a hole in your pocket, I wouldn't make the trip unless I could get it for $3000.00 less than the asking price. But that's just me. I know what I paid for my Nova rolling that came with more stuff and didn't need paint. It wasn't close to what they are asking.

Tod74

Too much money in my opinion. I understand my car is NOT a 63 and the market is different for the older NOVAS, but I gave $3200 for mine as a roller in 1996. 12 BOLT, new slicks, lexan, fiberglass hood ,deck lid ,and bumpers. Looked just like it does now only the wheels were different.

I think there are better deals out there. jmo

Yes. I had to wire it, instal a fuel system, motor and trans. I have never even messed with the suspension. I put Wilwood discs on front but other than that all I do is crawl under it and make sure the bolts are tight once in awhile. I bought it in 1996 from a guy in his late 60's I would estimate that was getting out of racing. I asked "what does what when you adjust the ladder bars?" He said "DON'T F%$# WITH IT!!!" I said "Yeah but.." he said "DON'T F*&^ WITH IT IT WORKS!"

SO i DON'T F^%$ WITH IT.

Car would probably hook in the snow.

I got lucky.

i had posted an ad wanting a nova project and this kid about a hour

and thats it, it still need cage, front work and he wanted 19k, so
you got a hell of a deal for that price and the car looks great,

no argument , the car could be made into something great , IF you have the time and money to complete it...the value of an object is what is worth to you. if it is what you want to tackle then by all means , go for it,,,,,Paul

While I do agree you can get more car for your money, it wouldn't be a back-halved 63 Chevy II. If a back-halved 63 Chevy II is what you want and this guy has a nice piece, buy it. There aren't that many 63's out there.

Back in 1988, when I was 18, I wanted a 70 Chevelle. I searched long and hard for just the right car. Found a 307 2bbl car that had never been wrecked and still had the hubcaps on it. It cost me good money and I pulled pretty much everything out of it but it was a solid base with everything intact. I still own the car.

Howdy Signs, I hope you are well my friend.

First impression: too high priced. I believe "you could get more bang for you buck".

After some thought & investigation: Everyone here including myself can say this: "You could not build this car for that price" ... no matter what, you will be into the car for a pretty penny if you have plans to keep her. So what is the question... you & the seller are a grand or so from making a deal on a very desireable car that is hard to find laying around. I mean it is a 63 chevII w/ backhalf, cage, all the hard stuff... looks like tin work is done... lots of extra parts too... car is not that incomplete. It is always our nature to down-play a car w/o a motor, doors installed, glass, in primer etc.... fact is that he HAS done a lot of work on that car... beauty is in the eye of the beholder. A roller 63 in decent condition is worth what- about 4K maybe.... then you have the back half work, cage, wheels/tires, etc... maybe it is not that bad of a deal. I could see walking much easier from this if it were not a 63 chevII... Good luck... when all else fails, PRAY about it. God Bless, Scoot

well rigs, how in gods world are you? im good brother,

i thank all the feed back on this car, the owner "kenny" like i posted
before, he would need 7k just to come out even, but he would take
6k, and this thing was built good for him, to keep, not enough time
to work on it, as the rust shows, and im concerned about the rust
around the windows, but yea all the metal is done from the trunk
to the front, he has both metal/fiber fenders and hood with the car,
but still just thinking about it for now, long haul, and right now
my work is piled til september, ernest in tx!

Hey signs, check out this ad #1948606.

Signs, now this is the real deal, no question about it, almost ready to run, complete with motor plate and headers. There is no question about it the 66 and 67's have a higher resale value in every racers book. Still has the original floors and firewall, plus current certs. Even the motor is a good deal at $3200.00, even if you had to put a crankshaft in it or possible rods and crank. You cannot build a good 489/496 with alum. 360 heads for less than $8,000.00. Hell if you don't buy it all i may buy that 492 motor, it's got all the good parts. I've been aching to build a rat motor anyway, i've got a beautiful polished 3" Kinsler stacks injection setup for alcohol and that motor with the 360 heads is an ideal starting point.

the blood he was choking on, his sons were in shock and as the

Hey signs I know just how you feel. I still remember when I was at a car show and a drag car lost control doing a burnout and went into the crowd. The feeling of hopelessness or helplessness that you feel at the time takes its toll on you. I couldnt sleep for over a week without replaying what happened at that show.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and to the family that had to witness this tragic event.

Signs-

Wow... sorry you had to see that. Fact is, you will never get that out of your head. The only thing (as you know) is to lean & yield on God right now for some kind of sense or closure. I don't know what to say.... but God will know what you need. Those boys.. I can't imagine... that is awful. You will lean on God about this; those boys might blame God for this. How do you tell them it was not God that caused it?? Those poor kids. I will pray for everyone involved. Take care buddy. I sent you a PM too. Scooter

I'm sure that this one event will leave scares on everybody involved forever. I hope some how, some way each of you find your own way to put this behind you. It is truly a shock to the senses the first time one experiences something like that, especially in your own neighborhood.......

Not to diminish your experience, Signs;
Just imagine the visuals, smells, and sounds our combat troops will live with FOREVER............help them by UNDERSTANDING what they might have gone through. Unless you've actually been there, it's impossible to know, but you CAN understand....never coddle, just understand....in order to survive the insanity of war, they have to harden themselves against all those sensations of combat. It all can come out when they get 'home'.

You want to know what really caught my heart- was no kids should EVER have to see that... their own parent... man, that is about as tough as it gets.

At least in war a kid does not watch his father graphically die that way...
