Which is better in a bigger cubic inch racing deal... a three vane or a four vane pump, and why?

Depends on the brand your looking at I assume Moroso.
I 4 vane is for a dry sump situation, but many use them with a relief valve, I run the 3 vane without a relief valve it pulls 8" @ idle and 12 down track.

I run a Moroso 3 vane on my 632 with a dry sump and without a relief valve. I've got no idea what it pulls going down the track. I have a hard enough time just going down the track much less trying to look at that little bitty guage  It does pull 12lbs at about 3,000 and above. I don't have a guage in my new truck yet.

Be careful might suck the valve covers in.

Don't worry, I've had a lot of those kinda days lately. Most are self induced

Any idea how well the motor is sealed? More blow by needs more pump.
