3/8 fuel line?

ok i have 3/8 line through out my system holley blue electric pump one of my buddies told me i need to have 1/2 line into the pump and run 3/8 out? does that even make sense, cause the port through the pump is also 3/8 too, right?

He is correct. A fuel pump is made to push fuel not pull it. It depends on gravity to feed the pump. You can't have to much fuel going to the pump.
