Am running a 496 chevy in a 225 hardtail. Glide with 5600 stall 4.30 gear, new Hoosier 33.5X17X16. on poor tracks 60 ft is 1.17. went 1.14 today, ran 7.95 @ 166.78 on last pass. Running tires at 5.6 psi. any thoughts on launch RPM or tire pressure? 60 ft is the same leaving at 3500 or 4100. thanks much

sometimes hardtail cars need to hit the tire harder, try 4400ish. Them tires co6's or co7's ?
What are you looking for, more consistent 60ft from good to bad track ? Your converter is tighter then most so its going to affect 60ft a bit more then a looser converter would do.

looking to keep consistent 60' and pick up a bit of ET. i am thinking of a looser converter as well. the tires are CO6 Hoosier. any thoughts on this range of 60 ft times? I ahve only made 60 passes in this car.
thanks

was it the same track or a different track ?
My car is what Id call "stupid good" most the time, last weekend at one track it was 1.098-1.101 all day, yesterday at a different track, 1.028-1.036 ... only difference is one tracks 60ft cones are off.
Even on the same track day to day, as long as its consistent all day on that day I wouldnt worry a bunch, but if it starts moving around a lot Id start to worry.
Loose converters are deadly IMO but normally not fast.
