What is your primary purpose for this vehicle...?
Drag only? Pro Street? a little of each...?
That is a huge cam, and I assume roller cam at those specs?
Do you want aluminum or iron heads?
You might neeed a bigger intake with that cam if you go with big heads...

Dart 230's will work well out of the box and even better ported. You might want 5500-5800 stall with that cam and maybe more gear depending on tire size........I had a similar 406 with the unported Darts, Dart intake, 5500 stall, pg that ran 9.70's in my Vette @ 2025 lbs in 8000 ft air and the guy I sold it to ran 10.80's at 122 in a 3100lb Camaro in the same air. He had 4.88's, 29.5x9 slicks 5800 stall and shifted at 7200.......won the SP track champ and King of the Track with it at our home track in 09.
Pretty impressive for a 20 year old kid and his first year in SP!

If you want a 23° head and it looks like you do. You might look into these.

I haven't used them personally, they are pretty new. Darin Morgan is the man behind the design of them. He used to be with Reher-Morrison, now he is with Profiler heads.

Call Chad and talk to him, tell him what you outlined here as your combo and he will help you out. He is a nice guy. Or you could post your questions over on his site. I believe he will answer you size question honestly not just try to sell you heads, he also does port and flow work if you have something already.

I don't know, maybe it's just my way of thinking, but i don't think you can get too big of a head in a 23* design for a 406" motor. Look at the NASCAR guys running symetrical port heads flowing around 400 CFM with 358". Some 406" motors make over 900 HP with Buick 18* heads. I wish i would have built an 18* motor instead of a 23* head 434" motor because of the limited flow rate of 23* heads. I've got an old set of Brodix 10's and they only flow 314 CFM with 2.140 int. valves fully hand ported and flowed.
