I know I'm going to get bashed here and don't care. Not that I'll respond to get a lot of needless crap going. Either post a sticky to tell new members on here what you want to see in there first post, or be nice and ask them after they messed up. How many people have you ran off by bashing them up front? This seems to be getting worse lately. I for one would not want the first responds to say something like, you need better grammer. Not everyone on here knows good spelling or how to puncuate. And I don't see spell check on here. Or how about the moderators put in a "RANT & RAVE" section for those like me, LOL. There's alot of people in racing that has had bad expreinces with people thats not on here, but looking to save someone else some grief later on. They find this section and just want to rant and share. Do You blame them? I don't post that much, but I love to come on and read the posts where Scorpion leads the pack to get justice for someone. Or just to offer someone advice on what they can do. Or even to find out who is a good seller. Guys, and I mean the ones that frequent this section, I like you all and love to read the posts, but a few of you need to think before you write. I agree we can be a little harsh on first time posters. I work for a race track that holds national events. Well I did till they laid me off. That's another story. Anyway they tell you, You might get asked the same question 20 times in one day. Don't get aggravated with the 20th person. Sure you've had to answer the same annoying question 19 times already, but to them, it's the first question they asked.

We need to ease up on the newbies and try to help them. If after that you find they are an idiot, flame on. :D

When we look at what we are exposed to on a daily basis, through TV shows, Movies, the daily news, steamy novels, it’s easy to discern why some people become drama junkies. The news and most TV shows are built around drama. Drama is entertaining to us when it is “someone elses’s” drama. That is why shows like “Desperate Housewife’s” and “Reality Shows” areso very popular, year’s ago it was “Dallas” and “Dynasty”. Soap operas have been around for years and are totally based on drama. We eat these types of programs up, we anxiously tune in or pick up the next novel to see the continuation of the drama, it’s fun, it’s entertaining, it’s also somewhat insidious in what affect it can have on our personal life.

We begin to think if we do not have drama in our life, then we simply must be missing something. Our life is boring, what do we have to talk about, if we don’t have something to bitch about in our life? What meaning would life have without all of the drama? This is why many people become drama junkies. Even when a everything is going great, life is peaceful and everything is going our way, a “Drama Junkie” is looking for ways to create drama or at the very least manifesting drama by thinking, “okay, things have been going too smoothly for too long, something is going to happen, I can just feel it”. Guess what, with that thinking, a person will attract drama into their life. After all, despite what the drama junkie might outwardly say, they desired the drama in the first place.

This unneeded drama in life creates stress and unravels relationships. Even when a person does get to the point where they realize they must break the pattern of drama in their life, they may mourn the drama. To reduce or to remove drama from some peoples life is a major change and it takes a period of adjustment. When the drama is gone then it must be replaced with some other type of emotions and activities. For a drama junkie, this is a very critical point of awareness.

Truth is our spiritual self does not need the drama. Our spiritual self is peace, is love, is the light and the most powerful energy there is. As we become more aware of our true self, we will have less and less desire for drama in our life. We will even get to the point where we develop a very low tolerance level for any drama.

To live in love is to live in peace and harmony.

I think that first time posters that just want to bitch deserve what they get. If the person would read through the feedback section and see what we are looking for when someone has a complaint then they would post properly and just not say thing like"so and so ripped me off and he's a jerk". Tell in detail the ad#, the persons user ID, details, details and more details, then all of us will jump in and so what we can to help or point them in the right direction for legal advise.
It just seems lately we get a lot of these 1st time posters that just want to bitch and about 50% of the time when the "scammer" in question comes back and tells his side of the story there is a lot more to it than what the original person posted.

My best Friend Quit school in the 8th grade (late 60's)..writes his name like a 2nd grader....he's worth about 35 million...takes in about 125 thousand A MONTH ( Yes i said a month) in rental property. another 20k a month in a Huge Body shop he opened up 35 years ago..mostly insurance work ( he doesn't run it) just collects the money once a week.
his toughest decision each day is what time he wants to get out of bed and what Hot-rod of his he wants to work on that day...or what new Toy he wants to Buy..

got more Hot rods then most can imagine,made exclusive magazine covers ( Hot-rod,deluxe,Hot-truck, etc......you name it)..

By education standards he would be classified an Idiot....but i will Guarantee ain't No-One on this site that can Out Horse trade him or touch more stuff that turns to gold as he does.......I will stake my NAME on that...thats how sure i am of My man with the 8th grade education !!!!

Imo...Formal education is nothing more then a Indicator that you have the ability to learn in a Formal controlled setting...it has no bearing about the real World..

Either post a sticky to tell new members on here what you want to see in there first post, or be nice and ask them after they messed up. How many people have you ran off by bashing them up front? This seems to be getting worse lately. I for one would not want the first responds to say something like, you need better grammer. Not everyone on here knows good spelling or how to puncuate. I think its an issue that needs dealt with.I know people that have been scammed on RJ and would like to warn others but refuse to post on here because they dont have the time to deal with the peolpe that use this forum as a form of negative entertainment. You know who you are.Your like a pack of hungry wolfs waiting to be thrown a bone. And then you want to see who can get the biggest piece.(Who can top the other ones post)Do you really believe that this helps. All you do is make people mad, and run them off. Or they dont even post at all,for fear of being bashed for one reason or another. Then the scammer lives to scam another day. Ive even seen positve post on here answered with negative comments. I dont believe this helps anyone. I respect what this forum is suppose to be for. However I dont approve of some of the tactics (If thats what you believe it is) that are used. As a former iver been scammed person, I say they need to be drawn out. You usually dont get results from these thiefs until you get them angry and screaming mad. Sure there is a lot of finger pointing in all directions on some of these, and it gets a little too hot too quick. But it is a nessacary evil to get to the truth. Sometimes it back fires on the original poster. My opinion they should do jail time for pre meditated theft. Its no different then robbing someone in person, its just a cowards version of it. Until you have walked in my shoes and been taken to the cleaners, please dont say they do not deserve what they have coming. I know the guy who took me I would not wizz on him if he were on fire. Sorry I am an eye for an eye kinda guy. It seems the legal justice system does not work these days. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Well i was taken also and that is why i am so harsh at times, I have fun here also but on the flip side i know what it feel's like, So untill i am removed from here or told by Mod's to quit being harsh and trying like so many others to get to the truth i will continue. Think about this.You may say something that strikes someone the wrong way(May not even be the person your posting about). Unless of course you are a scammer, I personally would NEVER hold back information that might help a guy out that was scammed............ doesn't matter what he said or wrote or whether I agreed or disagreed with their opinion. That to me is a form of tolerating a scammer.............................
I do not believe anyone in this forum would be tolerant to anyones scamming for any reason. I hope the folks holding back info rethink it, it really would be wrong let someone be a scammer.

I do believe at times we can be very harsh AND critical of the person claiming they were scammed. Usually happens when the complaint is nor verified with ad #, phone numbers, emails, etc. It has been proven to be effective at times, once a man starts lying he usually trips himself up (littlehotrod), angering someone is the best way to get them out of their game! All liars eventually get caught!

So if there are folks out there needing to make their plight public, please do it now. Be sure to include your pertinent information!

Man, I still stand on what I said. You should take other peoples opinion into concideration when posting. Look at the people who read this forum verses the people who post replies. Why is that? Could the reason be the fear of being critized for thier views? Called dumbazz, ediots etc.... I dont condone scamming in any form. But i do understand why someone would not want to get involved with any issues in this forum.Its funny you mention Littlehotrod. Thats a great example. It went from one guy, to his whole family, to the whole state of Miss and Tenn. I aggree some of it was self inflicked, because of the 15 y.o. nephew trying to defend his uncle. But you tell me how anything in that part of that deal help Mud get his $$$ back. Just a bunch of useless flaming. And If I were from that area I would have steered clear of that whole mess even if I thought I could help.

As a person who got slammed and called everything in the book to begin with, I truly would not want it any other way. It got me pi$$ed and I said some things that I should have sat back and pondered for a little while. It also gave my scammer a warm fuzzy feeling and he just started typing all kinds of sh!t. He basically over the period of a few days buried himself and it was because of the forum BANTER going back and forth, people from all sides asking questions to get to the truth. Sometimes it was not nice, but it was a path to the truth, so oh well. Lucky for me I also had pics I sent to them. My deal is a whole lot like littledickrods. I dealt with the dad but the son was the posting idiot. They have several user names and none are even remotly close to each other. He is a total POS and his dad is an even bigger POS. Same deal as Blownalky3 for me on another site- identified the scammer, had multiple complaints against him and yet the regulars attacked me on the forum like sharks- or maybe a bit like a Master Sergeant in bootcamp.

They were tough but it was that which validated the truth- And toughened me up a bit in the ways of online forums.

So the regulars on the forum can be tough AND THEY SHOULD BE. They are giving their free time to try and help others.

I cant tell you how many initial posts have been crap- take a look at the Chitown409 or Chitownmotors post- This was the scammer trying to turn the tables with their first post- a "poisoning the well" tactic that didnt work.

If someone is legit then they should post. If they are telling the truth then it will come out.

This forum gets results. Blown I agree with you 100%.

'vettes, how about asking the folks you know to come in here and voice their thoughts on why they won't post. I find it difficult to believe folks won't complain about being ripped off because they are afraid of being "bullied" a little bit, ESPECIALLY if they have proof. If the tactics used piss them off and they leave, then it is pretty likely they didn't want the help of the forum.

I seriously doubt the tactics used (yes, I do call them tactics) will change at all in here, it seems to be very effective in doing damage to the scammer.

I do know what you are saying though, the INITIAL contact with the poster w/o any info. could be a bit more subtle. On the other hand, since they know how to post in the forum, they likely have already read it several times:
Ad #, phone number, pictures, etc.
They should already know to post that info with their original 1st post of any thread they start, having to ask for that info gets a bit old after awhile.

I to was screwed over by a guy that said the car was one thing and it turned out to be another, lesson learned! It was my very first trade and I was excited, probably to excited to step back and give everything a proper looking over so I blame myself just as much as the jerkoff who lied to me. yes, sometime our replies are harsh, especially on the lack of information by a first poster. If the person would read through the forum, we always ask for the same thing, ad#, name, specific details, etc...
In blownalky3's case with the heads, he sent me pics so I could post them on the forum since he did not know how to do it. Yes, he got ragged on on the beginning but the truth did come out in the end and I made a new forum buddy that I hope I can visit in Vegas someday and taste Pauls righteous cooking!

Anybody else? I read the Mike2124 thread. He is one that probably deserved eveything he got and more. But the best part of that story was the investigation work.

I also read Scorps Diary.Great investigative work there to. But the best part of it was the manner in which he did it. Remained calm through the whole deal. Thats was a big part of how he gathered all the info.

There are 6.4 billion people out there and conflict is a fact of life. This fact isn’t the cause of conflict but it is the trigger to our emotions and our emotions are what drive us back to our most basic survival instinct; react and attack back to defend ourselves.

In these instinctual moments, we may lose track of our higher selves and become the human animal with an urge to protect ourselves when attacked. This too is natural. However, we are the only animal blessed with intelligence and having the ability to control our responses. So how can we do that?

I regularly get asked “How do you deal with the negative comments about your articles? They are brutal. I don’t think I could handle them.” My answer is simple, “I don’t let it bother me to begin with.” It wasn’t always this simple, and took me some time before overcoming this natural urgency to protect myself and attack back.

I know it’s not easy, if it was easy, there wouldn’t be difficult or negative people to begin with.


Why Bother Controlling Our Responses?

Hurting Ourselves - One of my favorite sayings is “Holding a grudge against someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” The only person we hurt is ourselves. When we react to negativity, we are disturbing our inner space and mentally creating pain within ourselves.

It’s Not About You, It’s About Them - I’ve learned that when people initiate negativity, it is a reflection of their inner state expressed externally and you just happen to be in front of that expression. It’s not personal, so why do we take it personally? In short: Because our ego likes problems and conflict. People are often so bored and unhappy with their own lives that they want to take others down with them. There have been many times when a random person has left a purposefully hurtful comment , and regularly checked back to see if anyone else responded to their comment, waiting eagerly to respond with more negativity.

Battle of the Ego - When we respond impulsively, it is a natural and honest response. However, is it the smart thing to do? What can be resolved by doing so? The answer: Nothing. It does however feed our ego’s need for conflict. Have you noticed that when we fight back, it feels really satisfying in our heads? But it doesn’t feel very good in our soul? Our stomach becomes tight, and we start having violent thoughts? When we do respond irrationally, it turns the conversation from a one-sided negative expression into a battle of two egos. Anger Feeds Anger. Negativity Feeds Negativity. - Rarely can any good come out of reacting against someone who is in a negative state. It will only trigger anger and an additional reactive response from that person. If we do respond impulsively, we’ll have invested energy in the defending of ourselves and we’ll feel more psychologically compelled to defend ourselves going forward. Have you noticed that the angrier our thoughts become, the angrier we become? It’s a negative downward spiral.

Waste of Energy - Where attention goes, energy flows. What we focus on tends to expand itself. Since we can only focus on one thing at a time, energy spent on negativity is energy that could have been spent on our personal wellbeing.

Negativity Spreads - I’ve found that once I allow negativity in one area of my life, it starts to subtly bleed into other areas as well. When we are in a negative state or holding a grudge against someone, we don’t feel very good. We carry that energy with us as we go about our day. When we don’t feel very good, we lose sight of clarity and may react unconsciously to matters in other areas of our lives, unnecessarily.

Freedom of Speech - People are as entitled to their opinions as you are. Allow them to express how they feel and let it be. Remember that it’s all relative and a matter of perspective. What we consider positive can be perceived by another as negative. When we react, it becomes me-versus-you, who is right? Some people may have a less than eloquent way of expressing themselves - it may even be offensive, but they are still entitled to do so. They have the right to express their own opinions and we have the right and will power to choose our responses. We can choose peace or we can choose conflict.

There are 6.4 billion people out there and conflict is a fact of life. This fact isn’t the cause of conflict but it is the trigger to our emotions and our emotions are what drive us back to our most basic survival instinct; react and attack back to defend ourselves.

In these instinctual moments, we may lose track of our higher selves and become the human animal with an urge to protect ourselves when attacked. This too is natural. However, we are the only animal blessed with intelligence and having the ability to control our responses. So how can we do that?

I regularly get asked “How do you deal with the negative comments about your articles? They are brutal. I don’t think I could handle them.” My answer is simple, “I don’t let it bother me to begin with.” It wasn’t always this simple, and took me some time before overcoming this natural urgency to protect myself and attack back.

I know it’s not easy, if it was easy, there wouldn’t be difficult or negative people to begin with.


Why Bother Controlling Our Responses?

Hurting Ourselves - One of my favorite sayings is “Holding a grudge against someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” The only person we hurt is ourselves. When we react to negativity, we are disturbing our inner space and mentally creating pain within ourselves.

It’s Not About You, It’s About Them - I’ve learned that when people initiate negativity, it is a reflection of their inner state expressed externally and you just happen to be in front of that expression. It’s not personal, so why do we take it personally? In short: Because our ego likes problems and conflict. People are often so bored and unhappy with their own lives that they want to take others down with them. There have been many times when a random person has left a purposefully hurtful comment , and regularly checked back to see if anyone else responded to their comment, waiting eagerly to respond with more negativity.

Battle of the Ego - When we respond impulsively, it is a natural and honest response. However, is it the smart thing to do? What can be resolved by doing so? The answer: Nothing. It does however feed our ego’s need for conflict. Have you noticed that when we fight back, it feels really satisfying in our heads? But it doesn’t feel very good in our soul? Our stomach becomes tight, and we start having violent thoughts? When we do respond irrationally, it turns the conversation from a one-sided negative expression into a battle of two egos. It becomes an unnecessary and unproductive battle for Who is Right?

Anger Feeds Anger. Negativity Feeds Negativity. - Rarely can any good come out of reacting against someone who is in a negative state. It will only trigger anger and an additional reactive response from that person. If we do respond impulsively, we’ll have invested energy in the defending of ourselves and we’ll feel more psychologically compelled to defend ourselves going forward. Have you noticed that the angrier our thoughts become, the angrier we become? It’s a negative downward spiral.

Waste of Energy - Where attention goes, energy flows. What we focus on tends to expand itself. Since we can only focus on one thing at a time, energy spent on negativity is energy that could have been spent on our personal wellbeing.

Negativity Spreads - I’ve found that once I allow negativity in one area of my life, it starts to subtly bleed into other areas as well. When we are in a negative state or holding a grudge against someone, we don’t feel very good. We carry that energy with us as we go about our day. When we don’t feel very good, we lose sight of clarity and may react unconsciously to matters in other areas of our lives, unnecessarily.

Freedom of Speech - People are as entitled to their opinions as you are. Allow them to express how they feel and let it be. Remember that it’s all relative and a matter of perspective. What we consider positive can be perceived by another as negative. When we react, it becomes me-versus-you, who is right? Some people may have a less than eloquent way of expressing themselves - it may even be offensive, but they are still entitled to do so. They have the right to express their own opinions and we have the right and will power to choose our responses. We can choose peace or we can choose conflict.

As far as things said in the posts to John. Nowhwere did I see him called Arrogant or Ignorant.I did call him a liar, because he lied.I did post the google link for the reason I stated. The thread did get a little ugly when other people made accusations that werent true. But like I said in that post, we are humans and not perfect.(I did write the 1st paragraph in my own words) I did play their negative game. And for that part I was wrong. But Im only sorry that I lowered myself to their standards.
I still think as origianally stated, they would get better results in some of thier persuits if they played a little nicer and took other peoples feeling into concideration. Look at it this way. If you were in a court forum, televised debate, or anything simular, would you win using the abusive tactics that are used on here a lot of times. More than likely you would be held in contempt , kicked out, or both.

LOL I expected resistence when I commented on this post that someone else started. I also expected it when I brought it back to the top. I knew there would be crude comments name calling and the rest of the BS that goes along with posting on here. But as you openly admit I have tried to respond in a polite way. I really try my best to be nice to everyone. Does it work all the time? NO. Im human and emotions take over from time to time. Nobodys perfect. Even though some have not played so nice,I would still help them anyway I can if ask. Like I stated in my post about John, I dont dislike anybody on here. But Im not the kind of guy thats takes it lying down either. Not a quiter in other words. I worked in direct sales for 25 years. Ive had over 300 people working under me at one time. Early on in my career my nick name was prick,because I always used what I called the 2x4 approach. That means I would rudley try to beat things into peoples heads. And it worked to a certain extent. But it only had a short term effect. Then I attended a motivational seminar and realized that there was a better way that had long term effects. Get people to want to do the right thing was better than making them do the right thing. Since then I have spent thousands of $$$ on motivation books ,tapes, and seminars.It has allowed me to have more control over my emotions therefor making most of decissions with my mind instead of my emotions. Which seems to get a better result most of the time. Does it work all the time ? NO. Do I always think with my mind instead reacting with my emotions? NO. But the more I'm aware that there is a problem, the more I work on trying to get better at it.

Now you may say that this has nothing to with this thread. But I believe it does. If you can figure out a way to get these people to want to do the right thing instead of beating them into it, then I believe it will yield a better result. And yes there may be times, you have to beat them into it.But I would use it as a last resort. And Im certianly not taking anything away from the success that you've had so far. My hats off to you. But again theres always room for improvement. When your green your growing, when your ripe your rotten. Its what you learn after you think you know it all that counts the most now.
