WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF GOING TO COILOVER SHOCKS AND HOW DO I KNOW WHAT ONE'S TO GET FOR MY 86 SS MONTE CARLO?

Lighter. And are you trying to replace the the stockers or adding ladderbar/4 link to it?

FOR NOW REPLACE THE STOCK SHOCKS AND COILS.

Typically you'll get the adjustability with a coil over shock. Some are single adjustable and some are double adjustable.
