I have a over heating pontiac 400. I've went to a aluminum rad. Electric water pump electric fan flushed block removed water drains to make sure its not clogged. 10 to 1 compression, 525 lift cam 280 duration dont know whats left to do. runs up in the 230's.

Does it have a thermostat in it? If so it may be staying closed. What I would do is take it out and run it to see if it over heats again.
Also are you sure that the water pump is turning? Or is it turning the right direction?

How many miles on the engine ?
How long to get that high of temps ?
230 while motating down the road or in traffic ?
Done a coolant system pressure check ? Could be a leaking head gasket.
