There has been much talk in the performance community lately concerning the arrival of “bargain” performance blocks and heads from various sources. These parts generally claim to be high quality performance pieces at extremely low prices. Sometimes the sellers don’t mention much about the materials used, the quality control, or where they’re made. Sometimes they are misleading about it, and sometimes they outright lie about these facts.

At Dart, our focus is creating great engine parts, right here in the U.S.A. We usually just shake our heads and move on when we see this sort of thing happening. But once in a while we get fed up with the bottom feeders and we decide to do something about it.

This is one of those times.

What I do not understand is the when we build high performance motors and stick thousands of dollars into these motors and there still people that skimp on cheap parts. I do not feel sorry for anyone who buys one of those cheap POS blocks and it goes south on them. You pay for what you get and Dart is a high quality block...PERIOD. Spend the extra cuz it will cost you three times as much in the long run.

I'd have to say you've been listening to US Propaganda. The Chinese "Army" are just that - an army. The Chinese Govt own industry. Where exactly do the "Army" get their slaves from?
I may be wrong, but doesn't america supply arms to more war zones than anyone in the world? Check out the weapons some of those ragheads are using.
Finally, when was the last time a Chinese soldier killed an american?

Sounds like you've been listening to some propaganda yourself. The Chinese "ARMY" gets its conscripts from the Chinese population, or does 25 bucks a month, constitute a paid professional in New Zealand. You may be right about the weapons to war zones deal, I know we sent a buttload to the south Pacific during World War Two. Check out the weapons MOST of those ragheads are carrying, look like AKs to me. For your final question, was it the 50s, the 60s, or the 70s, we may have forgotten when, but we ain't forgotten who. You've forgotten both. Why don't you go post this on a Chinese forum?

I say you should just proly curl up and hid or die in a hole somewhere. If you havent been readiing or watching what is going on in the U.S. then I wouldnt be saying that chit anywhere. Before you ask, Yes I have seen what weapons those "ragheads" are using. I have seen them in person, held them in my hands also. I would bet you have more China stuff than you know....even on your car. I've said it before...When I bought my Simpson helmet new it had a made in China sticker on it. Their website claims their stuff is made in USA...

It's done all the time I bet...We have no clue as to what may or may not come from China. Sure there are laws, but I'm sure there are probably loopholes to them too.I've seen, in person, China made parts being repacked and sold as American. As long as they do something to the part they can claim made in USA. I don't know the letter of the law, but that's my understanding as to how they get away with it.

If you want to criticise a countries policies, you should criticise your own. Work to change your own country. We'll work on changing ours. I am fully aware of how much Chinese Junk is in, around, and on my stuff and it pisses me off to no end. We the People have let this happen by buying it when it was Made in Japan out of beer can sheets.

I have personally seen with my own eyes how the peope in Iraq have changed since we been over here. They went from being scared chitless of even walking down the street during the day to being able to have drinks with their friends at night and not have to worry bout getting killed. When we finally caught Saddam everybody was celebrating. We are over here fighting to keep OUR country free and to be able to live in poeace and not have to live in fear.

It's simple. We fight them here or over there. Problem with here would be many Americans would want to give "them" free healthcare, food stamp, welfare and subsidized housing!!
Do I believe in everything our government tells me, No, but I get the benefit of living in a free country where I make my own life, can go as far in life as I want so I do support my country. Not to mention they drew first blood.

Now back to our regular program. I'm not knocking Dart, but if it were me I would have given some spec on the foreign block against the Dart block. The way the article is written it looks like they're the same block and Dart is just giving in to them and doing a price war which we all know want win in the long run. JMO
I sure hope a few years of these cheap blocks doesn't put Dart in the same position as Barry Grant and Holley :shock:
