I have an opportunity to get 1940 Plymouth 4 door sedan. The problem is that it doesn't have a frame or chassis just a body! What chassis of newer vintage would fit? I have heard that a full size Impala or Caprice would fit not sure. I'm a hot rodder(1969 Camaro BBC low 12's pump gas). But am interested in a street rod. HELP!

For that fat fendered Mopar, look into a Dodge Dakota/Durango chassis and running gear. Or if you want to go to the 'other' side, an S10/S15. Ford Rangers use a split beam front end and are LOUSY handling, think swing axle Bug / Corvair.

The fat fendered 40's cars are too narrow for the full size chassis cars of the 60's/70's. You can always shorten or lengthen as needed but VERY difficult to narrow.

According to this atached website, it has a 117 inch wheelbase.

The 1965 Dodge Coronet was also 117 inches.
