I bought a pair of used Monocoques from this guy in Belfry, Ky. I talked to him on the phone about these and he told me they were in "GOOD SHAPE" and all the needed was a "GOOD CLEANING"!!! Needless to say when these arrived via SNAIL MAIL, I took them out of the box, put them on to the rotors w/the lug nuts and spun the wheel. I noticed that they had alittle wobble to them so I took them to my local garage and had them spin balance them. Now mind you this is still with NO TIRES on them. They spun the rims and "HOLY CRAP" "their F**KING BENT"!!! I've tried to call and e-mailing him to tell him that the rims were bent and that I would pay the shipping back to him for a full refund in what I had paid him in the first place. I"VE GOTTEN NO RESPONCE!!!!! Now I'm feeling like I have gotten SCREWED!! I am trying to be a gentleman about this but I am loosing my cool every day that goes buy w/no reply. I'ts been a week now and still nothing!! Could use a little help in taking the next step!

I live about 30 miles from Belfry Ky. I am just across the river in WV. I have talked with this guy on the phone about a motor he had and he seamed like a good guy. If you don't get in touch with him let me know and I will try. I think he may go to Tri River Dragway in Fort Gay WV. I hope you guys work it out. Like I said he seamed like a good guy on the phone. If I can help you let me know.

Don't get me wrong, He was a great guy to deal with on the phone. After I had purchased the rims, He never would pick up the phone again. Which makes me think he knew they were bent and what he was getting rid of!
If he was any kind of stand up guy, he would or should just refund my money and just take what they are worth in scrap metal!! I am not on this board to make waves...I just want him to make right of the situation!

I sent him a pm and told him to come on in here and give his side. I want to be clear I was not defending him. Like I said I have never meet him nor have I done any dealing with him. I have talked to him on the phone a while back. Maybe he will come on and you guys can work it out.

We don't even have to go public on here if he doesn't want to! All I want is his explanation on why he sold me a pair of bent rims! Now again...It looks to be that they were dismounted on an older style machine. When the part that comes up to break the bottom beed, Nicked the inner beed and then came up too far and pushed the outer bead up. Easy fix if you want to take a hammer and a block of wood to straighten them. But I am not willing to do so on these! Just my opinion. I would not even try and resell these because that is NOT the type of person I am. I usally end up spending more time and money in selling something to keep my good name than I actually end up making. Again, Just asking for my money back, I WILL PAY THE SHIPPING BACK from Va. to Ky! No harm...No Foul! He's got both my e-mail address and my cell phone number. We can work this out in private if he chooses to or we can get on here and go round after round. I've got more time than money to loose. All he's got to do is contact me!

Hello to everyone. Thanks to wvhippie for bringing this to my att. I'm not to happy about seeing that I'm on the Scammer Watch List, but I'm not ashamed. I did nothing wrong. I bought these wheels from a guy here on RacingJunk a few months back. I had a wanted ad asking for a pair of Monocoque Wheels. Ad #1579962 I was contacted from a guy named Tony from Texas. He told me these wheels were in excellent condition. He did not have them on RacingJunk for sale. I did not see a picture of them. When I received the wheels with (no tires) I was not satisfied. They were not the style I wanted. Remenber I did not mount or do anything with these wheels. I bought them with understanding the wheels are being sold AS IS. I didn't contact Tony asking for my money back.
Now for my buddy George Vargo Jr.. When I posted these wheels. George contacted me about 10+ times. He was worried about the wheels fitting his car because he had Aerospace Brakes on his car. He has one set of these wheels and they didnt work. George contacted me again saying he talked to someone at Aerospace saying that "the wheels that I have will work." George and I had a understanding over the phone that he is buying the wheels AS IS... just like I did. I told him everthing I knew about the wheels. I did not know that the wheels were bent, if they are bent... This is a past Message wrote by George aka. vargoracing on Aug. 13, 09

Now back to the Reply of the Scammer Watch! I think the wheels are NOT bent. I think George is mad, because he has two sets of Monocoque Wheels that dont work on his Ford Mustang!
To everone out taking there time reading this. I have a 100% Feed Back on Ebay. I tryed to sell them on Ebay first, but the wheels did not make the RESERVE!!! Thats why I put them on RacingJunk for Sale.
Ok to: (christiandseller) I have always bought car parts on RacingJunk. I have posted ads on here, but never sold anything before on RacingJunk.
so I dont know what to do with the Honor Payment Deal. Dont judge me and "my junk as you say" because you are the one going to be judged at the end.
George I'm sorry if they are bent. Again I told you I didnt know anything about them. You know that...
I bought the wheels "AS IS" & I sold them to you "AS IS"

Vargoracing-
Ball's in your court- your email says they wont work, your post says they are bent.
Your email was 08/13/09 and said they wont work, and then a week 08/20/09 later you post on here and say they are bent.
Soooooooo
Did you know they were bent on 08/13? If so why didnt you mention it?
Since they went to a shop for testing and truing, might you have a receipt?
Finally, if seller gave full disclosure to the best of their knowledge and the transaction is "as is", is it much different then a department store with a final sale as is with no returns?
Finally is Bugzy telling the truth that you have another pair that doesnt fit?

Hope everybody reading this has some time on their hands!. First of all, The first pair of Monocoques that I have and owned for years before the Aerospace brakes change over are 1.3/4" backspacing. The pair I bought off "BUGZY" are 2.3/8" backspacing. Aerospace says for a FOX body car, you must use 2.2/5 bs on a 3.5" rim, and on a 4" rim you must use a 2.7/5" bs. He said "they should work" That is why I bought them. Go a head and look on their web site! As for the "AS IS" sale...That is total "BULL SH*T" That was NEVER EVEN MENTIONED in ANY of our conversations!! Now tell me I'm wrong Bugzy! And has far as a receipt goes...WHO DO YOU WANT ME TO SEND IT TO!!
The day I got them 8/12, I went into my garage, put them on the studs, spun the wheel and heard them scape the caliper. I got so pissed off I shut the light off and went in the house to tell you that I received them without doing any further research. It wasn't until the next day when I had calmed down and went back outside and put lugs on the wheels and spun them again and relized that they had a wobble, and that is when I took them to my local garge. I am sorry for being a day late, dollar short on my information but IF YOU HAD ANSWERED YOUR PHONE!!!!!!!! You would have known what was going on. Tell everyone HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE CALLED YOU WITH NO RESPONSE!! You didn't even answer the phone after you shipped them when I was trying to locate them coming snail mail which to me... You knew something was wrong with these rims.
Bugzy, You never ONCE told me that you bought them and did not like them, that why you are selling them! You even listed the WRONG RIMS when you first posted them!! Why don't you tell the PEOPLE that! As far as POSITIVE FEEDBACK goes... Who do I send my resume to? I am not no punk kid lookin for a fight on here, I just want my money back for this junk that" just needed a polishing" back! I give you credit for comming on this board and defending youself. But it was YOU WHO SHOULD OF KNOWN THEY WERE JUNK BEFORE YOU SOLD THEM AGAIN!!!!

To my good friend George. How would I know if the wheels were bent if I never mounted them. I never touch them until I took pics of them. Yes I posted the wrong photo of them on RacingJunk, but we cleared that up way before you bought them. I sent you number of new pics to you, and change the photos on RacingJunk. For are conversations. Why are you such a lier... You know the truth.... Why dont you just man up! You got 2 sets of Monocoques front runners wheels that dont fit you car. Ohwell get over it. To all readers... this is not this guys 1st rodeo he has made complants on more than one seller on RacingJunk. Ask yourself why would he ask me for the other RacingJunk menbers information who was interested in the wheels. I dont know maybe he wants to sell his other rims that are bent?
It seems (vargoracing) is the SCAMMER!

Umm Bugzy I am pretty sure you were on here before today- this forum. You can see users browsing the forum- I check all the time and I seem to remember you visited before today and after the thread was posted. I was waiting on your response to this thread and was surprised that you didnt post.
Topsportsman1 and Bjuice the two mods could probably confirm that.
Just thought I'd point that out.

Scorp should be a detective....if I ever get scammed I'm going to him.
ANYWAY NOW for my opinion.
In the first post you said this
I bought a pair of used Monocoques from this guy in Belfry, Ky. They spun the rims and "HOLY CRAP" "their F**KING BENT:
Then you changed it a little bit to this
The day I got them 8/12, I went into my garage, put them on the studs, spun the wheel and heard them scape the caliper. I got so pissed off I shut the light off and went in the house to tell you that I received them without doing any further research. It wasn't until the next day when I had calmed down and went back outside and put lugs on the wheels and spun them again and relized that they had a wobble, and that is when I took them to my local garge. !!!!
IF you heard them scrape and knew they were not going to work, Why the heck would you go back out the next day and put lug nuts on them and snug them down and spin it again? Also,I am going to assume you will say there were no lug nuts on them the day before when you spun them, to which I ask.. WHO IN THE HELL puts a rim on the rotor and gives it a spin without any lug nuts on? Most people at least start a couple on and run them in because they would never stay flat against the rotor if you didn't....AND IF YOU DID do that, why would you then be pissed at the fact that you heard them rubbing the caliper? That makes no sense at all. You wouldn't get pissed at that point because you wouldn't know for sure they rubbed until the lug nuts were at least finger tight to hold them in place....something don't add up to me...JUST MY OPINION.
(Quote from 1st Post)
I've tried to call and e-mailing him to tell him that the rims were bent and that I would pay the shipping back to him for a full refund in what I had paid him in the first place. I've read the posts, and "one guy" comes accross as a gentleman, who is trying to resolve a problem, in a gentle way,
AND THE OTHER GUY IS AN A$$HOLE (read his replies), WHO IS ONL;Y INTERESTED
IN KEEPING THE MONEY AND TRYING TO BELITTLE THE GUY HE SCAMMED.

Why won't people stand behind the products that they are selling or disclose any known faults with them. If in fact several phone calls were made with no response this should have set off a red flag immediately.
Like the saying goes " buyer beware ". Especially on the internet.

just reading the conversation between bugzy and vargo. I havent seen all the messages between them, and never heard the phone conversations when the deal was made. I have nothing in this matter. but I do know the truth to some extent. I happen to live next door to his parents,he lives about 30 miles away. the wheels were delivered here. I also know for an absolute fact that he never mounted a tire on them nor did he ever attempt to mount them on his car. he removed them from the box they were delivered in and saw they did not match the rear wheels on his car, and he laid them on a shelf and that is where they stayed until he sold them. I took one of them and tried it on my nova, but it didnt match well with the greg weld wheels I had on the back, so I put it back with the other one and he sold them. he knew nothing at all about those wheels except what he was told when bought them. they did need a good cleaning, but that was all I could see wrong with them. everyone has a different opinion of what excellent is.

Whether or not he tried them out, he DID sell them. It IS his fault that they are not what he said they were, regardless. "I didn't know they were stolen officer" doesn't work either...

Exactly!! It's YOUR name that is attached to these wheels. It doesn't matter who had them before, if you mounted them or didn't mount them.
I too have seen the ad and it doesn't say " As Is ".

Bugzy:
Here is my parable: "I bought a 350SBC that the ad said "runs great" from a guy who said he only ran it for one season. He told me he got from another guy who said it was "fine" too. I decided I wanted a BBC & sold it to someone else.... WHO CALLED ME & SAID IT WAS A "305" & IT WAS SEIZED.
Am I liable/responsible??? HELL YES. The excuse of "Poor me, I didn't know it was broken... they said it was "fine" when I bought it" DOESN'T CUT IT BUDDY!!! WEAK EXCUSE.... EVERYONE COULD USE THAT ONE.
If the wheels are bent, you got screwed & so did the buyer you are responsible for... who got screwed. Misrepresentation is one thing... but shipping defective parts is another. You should be responsible for shipping junk IMO. Scooter
