A daughter of one of the gals my wife works with was in the middle of a home renovation and ran out of $$$$$$$$$$.
The wifey poo asked me to go over to her home and see what I could do to help out, knowing I usually subcontract any work at out own home.
But, she knows theres nothing I can't do, sooooooooo, you know what happened,
Plumbing, wiring and a little selective interior demo was required. What the hay, I did the work and even let them use a really nice wet saw to install tile in their kitchen.
I had to climb into the attic on the hottest days of the summer to redo the wiring so I hire a young lad from the neighborhood to assist me.
The work took four days to complete.
They offered to pay several times, I refused, I did request they pay for the materials I purchased and the young mans wages, less than 240 bucks total..
Never know it could happen to you....

I try to help out anybody that needs it. Right now I am helping out my wifes brother and sister. I am helping her brother go to college and helping her sister with hay for her horses. I guess it runs in the family to own horses. Anyways, the only thing I dont like is when people see that you are willing to help them out when they need it and they take advantage of it. Those people I will help out a couple times and thats it.

A few years ago a girl I was dating asked me if I would think about painting her fathers car. It was just an 86 Monte Carlo but he loved it and wanted it painted so bad he could taste it, but didn't make much money. I agreed to look at it...looked like a sand and paint so I agreed. He never told me he had spray painted it with KRYLON spray paint a year or two before....I had to take the damn thing almost to bare metal. Then he wanted it a different color so that meant a complete tear down...He paid for some of the supplies as he went( I ran a ticket at the store) He ended up giving me around $300 total. This didn't even buy the paint. It was indigo blue pearl base/clear. I used my own supplies and ended up stuck with a $200 bill at the paint store. I worked on that turd for 3 months solid. He never did pay me what he promised or even the rest of the materials cost but it felt kinda good to see his face when he picked it up.

I have some pictures she took of him with it...as a joke there was one with him pointing a can of spray paint at it like he was painting it.Funny to her cause she was the one who got to listen to me bitch the whole time about the spray paint...that was the worst cause you can't paint over that crap and he had it covered.

I sure hope the skid marks weren't from the brakes being used.  :D

Working at a dealership I get all kinds of panic calls. A guy calls the store one day from Chicago in a panic cause his daughter locked the keys in her car at the mall. Company rules state we cant cut keys without proof of ownership so since he was 2 hours away my guys cant help so the call lands in my lap. He was kinda hysterical and said his daughter was handicapped, so I said that I could cut the key and take it to her all she needed was to show mw her license. I drove over to the mall and here stands this beautiful 20 year old girl in tears. Her handicap was she had no arms from above the elbow down but did have prosthetic arms with hooks. I unlocked her car, did not care to ask for her license. She tried to give me a $20 but I would not take it. This girls eyes and face could have melted anyones heart I mean she was just gorgeous. She went on her way and her father called me back about an hour later to thanks me. He said when she was 15 she had a severe case of Hepatitus and had lost both her arms and almost her life. He ended up sending a thank you note to my boss and myself. the note really made my day and I keep it on my desk so when I am having a $hitty day I can read it and realize my life aint that bad

I put a gate up to my back yard so I could get the big items in and out easier. I had to buy one of those double gates even though I only needed one side. My next door neighbor who was 93 at the time asked if I could put one in for him. So, I put the extra gate in for him at no cost to him. Then the guy across the street wanted one and he picked up the gates and I installed that one also. He was 88 at the time. So, that way they could hire someone to do their yards because they wouldn't before because their mowers were too big to get in the back yards. Sure made it easier for them and they appreciated the effort. :)
Hats off to OnebadGMC on the thread he started for Murff on yellowbullet. He did alot to brighten the life of Murff and his family. If you haven't read it, you should. Prayers go out for him and his family.

We help people who can't afford glasses. At Christmas we have a "Secret Santa" program where low income families can come get toys for their kids at no charge. We also give out gift certificates from the local grocery store at the same time.
I'm in charge of the annual Halloween Parade this year.
I'm working on a "Walk-a-dog-athon" for next year to benefit Leader Dog.

a very good friend of mine took in his wifes boss 66 mustang to paint.he took it all apart and started some sanding.then he learned he had lung cancer and started his treatments, so the car got put on hold. it sat in his shop for quite awhile.my son had the idea of loading up that damn car and bringing it to our shop with the intention of finishing the sanding ,shooting on the primer, quick sanding, shooting on a.enamel and presto, one done stang.johnny even told us to just get it shot, dont worry to much about anything else, just get some color on it.WRONG,that car had alot of hidden problems that im spending alot of hrs. on before i can get it in primer.well johnny died a couple weeks ago and i still havent got that thing in primer yet but we are working on it.i also have a paying customers car that weve had for awhile new paint, tribal flames wraped in barb wire, who we put on hold to work on this stang for johnny. hes a good kid because when i told him about the stang he was cool about it . said for us to work on our friend car first, and his car is almost done!johnny was always trying to beat me in some kind of deal, well he got the last laugh, seems he forgot to give us the money for all the crap to get this car painted, from paper to paint!he finally got me.and he was getting a couple grand of labor for free anyway.he was just a old worn out biker, but i loved him like a brother, and he was one of two people who helped me find my way back to god after my wreck so i guess in the long run i got paid.rip brother, we will ride again!
