brake parts cleaner and compressed air. flush it both ways until comes out clean. If has ALOT of metal or feels restricted at all when blowing through it, change it out. Best to have trans gone through and everything cleaned out. It doesn't take much to stick a valve and burn trans up. I broke a set of pump gears and had a small piece stick a valve and burnt up reverse clutches because slipping backing up when trans brake applied

A professional radiator or trans place should be able to pressure clean it. It's a lot better than doing it yourself with an air hose.

Go to NAPA and get a can (or 2) of Kooler Kleen part # 765-2614. works great!!!
