Changing front ends on Chevy truck

I have a 79 Chevy truck and was wondering if their would be a significant weight loss if i changed my front end (dog house) to a 1981 up style front end and how much weight do you think it would be if any? Thanks

Would inmagine they weigh the same. Or pretty dang close.

I would think the only way to lose weight would either be fiberglass stuff or flimsy aftermarket stuff should be lighter... You can ditch the stuff you dont need like inner fenders, etc...
