The problem is with my buddies car."70 Challenger, 500" BB, 727 torqueflite with pro brake. When bottom bulb racing no matter how soon I let go the best bulb has been .180. Oh also this tranny is new. His old one wasn't like this but it had a bracket brake. I know its not me cause I can't stop going red in my car. Any ideas?

Try running another ground to the solenoid, may have a poor ground. What gauge wire to the brake?

Not sure on the wire size. Will have to check. It's the same wire that was hooked to the bracket brake. Does the pro brake draw more amps?

No, not normally. Does it release slow all the time? There is no delay box right. If there is a box, it's in the no delay mode? I ran 10 gauge wire to mine because that is what was on the solenoid. So I made sure he rest was 10 gauge. I would try bypassing the switch by just holding the wires together and see if it releases as soon as the wires separate.( Engine off) You should be able to hear it release.

No delay box. Will try direct 12 volt to solenoid and see what that does. Thanks gives us a few things to try.

when the car is just sitting there not running does it click as soon as you let off the button ?
if not its prob hanging up in the trans

Hopefully the trans guy knows what he was doing, but I will say the Pro brake the hole that gets drilled in the case is alot bigger. So slow fluid release...could cause slow reaction I would think... :?:

The reason I suggested connecting the wires was to eliminte the possibility that the switch was causing the delay.

Hell I'd just footbrake it...lol
I'd check the switch first.
Do this easy test.
Hook it up to a voltmeter or test light, release it and see if the light or voltage drops as soon as you release the button.
