I am replacing my fuel tank, do you like a 5 gallon or 8 gallon tank better? Car is a 74 Camaro, drag race only. I thought a 5 would be good IF you ever had a fire, but 8 might be more convienent.

I top my car off before every pass so the 8 gallon wouldn't matter!

I have 8 gallon fuel cell in my car.
I top it off before I go racing and never look at it again, one less thing to worry about when I making rounds.
Now I'm not sure if I ran a 5 gallon thats I'd be able to do that.

If you've ever seen a car crash and catch on fire you'd put a 3 gallon fuel cell in. I would go as small as I could stand on a dragcar. A track close had a racer die by getting burned. All that fuel is just dynamite waiting for a match.JMO

3 gallons less fuel will save in excess of 20 lbs

My car actually has only a 3 gallon cel in it. But I still fill it before each round about 4 inches from the top.

One thing you might think about. Your weight is changing thru out the race if you go to the finals it could be enough to change what et you should run. Not counting the fact that a 1/2 half full fuel cell will slosh some.
Gas weighs 6.2lb per gal. 8 gallons of gas would weigh almost 50lbs.
