496 crank trigger no spark

i just got my 496 back from the builder i bought a new msd 6al-2 box coil and crank trigger but i cant get no spark when i un plug the pick up and short out the green and violet wire i get spark i but a other pick up and tryed it no spark thanks

run a magnet over the pickup and see if you get a spark .if not the pickup is bad.if you do have spark your gap may be to big.
