I worked at a burger joint in High School and our boss used to brag about how fast his maverick was...how he would have it to 120 mph and such...He was what you would call a nerd...definitely not a "car guy" he finally drove it in and basically insisted we take it for a spin(me and a buddy that worked there) Let me tell you that thing was a death/rattle trap and we ran the shit out of it...it shook and vibrated...it was a real pile...I was in the passenger seat and we had that thing going 100 mph scared me to death.....and not because it was fast but because it was a turd.

Back to the original post, I'm estimating 340 HP. As for the Maverick, I thought the Maverick and Mustang were the same chassis. So, it should be a good base. I'd probably go with a SBF just because it's easier to keep it in the same family. Don't think it looks like a Vega though.

yess i did flip my 4 banger but i think its pretty effin funny considering i was 13, it was only my 5th or 6th race & i was driving a standard with absoluletely no racing experience.
but after i flipped it i helped my dad tear the whole engine apart, replace the valve springs plus check other things out then put it all back together.
so personally i think you should know your facts before you run your mouth cause i know a lot more than i show & definately a lot more than what you know.

Its a shame they could learn alot if they would get off their own soap boxes. Kinda whats wrong with the younger generation, they've seemed to lost the ability to listen and give respect to their elders. I never would have talked to a respected adult like this when I was growing up. Hell I don't talk to my elders like that now, even if the elder is wrong. I can only just imagine what I might know now if I would have had a resource like this when I was younger. I did my learning with my pocket book and alot of overtime. Even without forums I listened to what the older racers had to say and was lucky enough to have a couple take me under their wings. I'll never forget those that got me where I'm at today. Not to long ago I had one of the older guys that helped me when I was just a pup hang out at my trailer. He sat there with a bigo smile while we went rounds. Heck he was like a proud father. Made me proud to give a little back. Kinda makes it all worth while. Especially with my son there to hear some of the old stories, even if they were embellished alittle.
