I think you have a solid 10sec. car. I built a similar combo in that it had a solid lift flat tappet cam and it ran 10:60s in a 3200lbs camaro with a powerglide and pump gas! It also had a nice set of ported track 1 brodix heads. It has been one of my favorite motors I have built. With that turbl 350 first gear, its going to rip the tires off if its tuned right. Make sure you have the fuel flow you need and about 36-38 degrees timing at 3000 rpm max!

I just dynoed my 12:1 408 Ford with a 680 lift roller and AFR 205 cc heads and it made 580hp. Just to give you an idea. I would say your guess of 550 at the crank would be pretty close. It sounds like a nice piece. Good luck with it.

my pump gas 383 went 11.80's with a 557 flat tappet cam, you should be in the tens easily with a brake,, your cam seems like it has alot of lift for the duration and lower compression.. I'll trade ya engines! lol

I am assuming this is a .030 over 400 block,..
and the heads have 2.08/ 1.60 valves,..

X2 on the cam, i think i would take the 1.6 rockers off and go with the 1.5's. Case in point, i have a .668/.660 @ 106 LS installed @ 102 in my 377" motor, in my friends 1800 lb dragster it ran 5.15 and 8.23 @ 158 on alcohol. Same motor in my 3250 Malibu, i could only run 6.52 and 10.59 @ 125, just not enough torque for the weight. I ran better with a .597 flat tappet cam 106 LS with a 406" same as your's except with 12.5 pistons with an 850 DP. Best 60' 1.39 with 14X32 GY's. I could be wrong, so maybe run the car first then try some 1.5 rockers to get the lift down.

565 HP @ 6700
530 TQ @ 5200
High 10's 1/4, but faster with a glide, plus much more consistent.
Them little 11.5's are gonna be tricky getting them to hook with a 3 speed coming off a brake, might try a limiter chip around 3500 to soften the initial hit.
I envy you pump gas guys, I swear I will never build another race gas only motor, if I have to go up to 600 cubes to get 800 horses I will, this $8 a gallon race gas is fkn killin me!

Thanks for all the replys. I originally had 1.5 rockers and my local engine builder recommended 1.6. luckily the 1.5 are still in the garage. So I will definitely throw those in the track box.I do think a glide is in the near future I will run this th350 till it goes.I do run a two step initial launch set up at 4400 rpm with upper limit at 6800.i'm hopin for high tens but we will see. I will keep you posted.

That 406 I built was a flat tappet 560 and 580 with 256 and 262 with almost identical combo as yours and it was just awesome! His car is 3200 with driver with 4:30s and a glide with a 5000 stall. That was with pump gas! Dont worry, unless you live in Denver and every other thing on the car is a mess, it will run in the 10 sec easily. Ours ran high 10:60s and high 10:70s in the worst heat and humidity in Georgia. We are in North Georgia so the elevation is about 1300ft. It made me rethink my BBC combinations......like what am I doing with them! Now we had our heads ported specifically for this combo by Jon Kasses head porter so we did spend money there but the rest was a GM block and Eagle crank and Rods.
