While in school my father would not allow me to buy a car...well he had bought a BRAND NEW 1985 chevette to drive back and forth to work....It was such an economical car,he figured it would be perfect(and slow) for a teenager...so he did provide me with a 1982 chevette so I could get back and forth to wrestling practice....well a left turn in front of a pinto station wagon( swear to God...not joking :lol: ) destroyed that car..what a high dollar crash that was..pinto wagon and a 1982 chevette!! I thought for sure he would let me get a camaro or something then...but NO...he bought a new car and gave me his chevette. :? Imagine my shame when I showed up at school with Chevette number two. :(

I don't want too ring anyone's bell, but when i lived in Az. there was a Chevette called halfpint that would run in the 8's with a s/blk, and that was 20 yrs. ago, it was a bad motorscotter.

Personally, the only thing better then watching top dragster or top sportsman is watching a street car, in factory trim with full exhaust, roll onto the track and lay down a sub 8 second ride. There is a fella that comes around here with a twin turbo 63 vette that has more street miles on it in the current trim then it does trailer miles and track time combined. I watched it run into the low 7's knowing it had a 6 second run it. Oh yeah, he showed his registration and insurance card.
