Firebird Raceway - 5 miles

December 15, 2008
Firebird Raceway named NHRA Track of the Year in Northwest
Firebird Raceway's Scott New accepted the NHRA Track of the Year award on behalf of the New family at the NHRA award's banquet held Saturday in Seattle.

Earning the award for the first time in the track's 41-year history, the Firebird facility was also recognized for winning the Division 6 Summit E.T. Finals over 19 Northwest tracks this past Labor Day weekend and the National Dragster Contributor of the Year award.

Four Idaho drag racers also were highlighted for scoring Division 6 year-end titles including: Meridian's Aaron McCoy in Sport Compact, Meridian's Ed Cutler in Super Pro, Nampa's Derric Barr in Super Pro and Eagle's Courtney Alley in High School. All four drivers won NHRA Northwest titles.

Home track is Stanton/ Mid michigan Motorplex is 64 miles or 1 hout 15 min from Midland MI and a smooth ride.
Ubly in the thumb is 94 Miles and 1 hout 45 min real bad roads to it from Midland. You need to pull the chute at 1/2 track to avoid the cat tails on the big end.

well to be honest i didn't mapquest the addresses and one could be 30 minutes close then the Other..i based this off the time it takes me to get to Shadyside...also i moved from Easely to Greenville County 18 months ago..which is about 30 minutes or so closer to z-max.

where do you live ?

Well you have me Curious on what was the exact Miles..i went in a mapquest each track address to my home address and there was a 15 minute difference in the tracks..Moorsville being the furtherest one...

then again this is MAPQUEST ...who actually gets there when mapquest says you do ?

i also just updated my forum profile..thanks for pointing that out..changed it on the classifieds when i moved but not over here on the forum.

bjuice I was just thinking that if you were coming up 85 it is not that much farther on up to concord from the 77 intersection.
I wondered if you had found a shorter route through the woods to mooresville or something is all. 8)
I live just north of mooresville but I used to go to the winn-dixie warehouse (or was it piggly-wiggly) I can't remember now but anyway it was in easley. :)

Earlville 1/4 =185
Cordova 1/4 =190
Byron 1/4 = 285
Union Grove 1/4 =390

We race IMSM series at Byron, Union Grove and Cordova. We live in Iowa but there are no series in the area who run a pro lite so we travel to ILL to race. Someday Iowa will wake up an race a real series I hope.
