Let me start by saying Hi. I'm new today to RJ forum been a member of RJ for just 2 months or so. When I started looking at racing junk ads I noticed the ads that had sold banners on them. so I listed a few things now I notice no banners saying sold, did they remove them or nothing selling anymore?????? Didn't know if I hit a wrong button, not to show sold cars or what.

I have 2 cars, 2 powerglides and some misc BBC parts on here and can't get anyone to buy. By no means is any of it junk, but no one wants to pay cash. Everyone wants to trade.

You need to keep that wagon, if i can find them i'll post some pics. of a 72 wagon, changed the front hood and fenders to late model. I built it from scratch, with rec. tube chassis and strut front end shocks from an MG, and ladder bar rear. Put a 482" b/blk and the very first pass it went 9.80's, that was in 1980, 2 yrs. later i got divorced and sold the car. I would love to have the car back. Mine had a vynil padded complete top cover from the factory, no side windows, really rare version of the sedan delivery.
Keep the wagon and put a real motor in it, you can run easy 9.50's with a cheap 434"er and drive it to the hotdog stand at the track, and everybody will look funny at you because they won't understand how a car can run so good and not be on the charger or having maintenience done to it between rounds.

Hey Steve, I'll be at the track next year, and I'm far from rich, as long as I have a rifle, a shotgun, and a four wheel drive, I can feed myself.
I wrote the fed a very polite letter explaining how my racing team was in dire financial shape, but if they would cut me a check for a couple of hundred million, I might be able to muddle through for another season. I aint heard from them yet, but what the hey, it's worth a shot.

hey earl,,$100.00 plus a week is hard to come by if this thing don't change,,how many ppl are going to lose there jobs between now and spring,,if i work this summer like last summer yes i'll be there, but if the public don't have a job then they don't need steve the roofer/carpenter doing work on there house,,i'm looking for the promise obama made about the poor ppl!!LOL!! better not hold my breath, there giving gas away just to keep us alive right now,,now they need to work on the grocerise in the stores,,everything went up because of gas,now that gas is down everything is still up,,,,steve

Steve I hear you loud and clear. I need a roof, and if my house was there, or you were here, you'd get that contract fur shoor. Racing don't cost me quite that much, but I hear ya.
Don't be counting on NO politicians promisses though, once they get elected, they forget all about the American people. What you CAN count on from them, is more of the same tripe, they been putting out. That loud sucking sound you hear, is our economy, going down the tubes. Of course that's JMO, FWIW.

I know the feelings for sure guys, my work is Jap owned they are great people to work for. First time they've had to cut people is coming. 34 Job on my plant (200 people) I should be safe this go around but never know if there is another go around.
My racing is pricey, I cant go anywhere without spending $70.00 just in fuel to get there and back, then $60.00 to race, $12.00 for each crew, race car alky and I buyback if needed. Thats a normal weekend, not counting these races that cost $135.00 each $40.00 for crew, my racing will go downhill this year because of work but I will keep at it. The economy rolls downhill, if the big 3 dont get bailed out my work will be out of a lot of money. Something needs to happen soon

Not much high dollar stuff right now, people are hanging on to their money. I just sold a pair of rims cheap to buy a waterpump. Kind of a trade. Now i'm hangin' on hoping to find a converter. Like hammer said people getting laidoff and worrying they could be next.

I'd been watching the parts market, had a set of crane rockers put them on ebay after watching another used set go for over $200.00 the day I put mine on there. Started @ 150 not a single bid several watchers though. The other users feedback was zero and still goes high. I dont get this parts selling sometimes lol

A friend of mine can sell ANYTHING!!!!!! I'll let you in on a secret, start stuff out at $1 put it on a 7 day auction and put a reserve on it.That way you wont sell it too cheap but if you put it on there at a high price it wont get a bid. I sold a stock 400 splayed cap bare block that needed bored for $662 and had over 40 bids on it!! They paid freight also, there were better deals on there than mine but they started out too high to get any interest.

STARTING PRICE MAKES A HUGE DIFFERNCE WHEN SELLING ALOT OF TIMES
I THINK ALOT OF BUYERS ENJOY THE BIDDING WHEN THERE ARE ALOT OF BIDS GOING ON
ALSO WITH EBAY YOU ARE GETTING SCREWED ALOT ON THIS PAYPAL ONLY CRAP AND THERE STUPID RIPOFF FEES AT TIMES[SO BE CAREFUL AND READ -ALL-THE FINE PRINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've tried selling stuff that way with no luck either best luck I've had latley is putting it on ebay as a buy it now/best offer auction they are cheaper to list and usually get a fair amount of offers. Sold the roller rockers a few days ago for $175, I couldnt sell the week before @ $150. Worked out ok this go around again thanks for the tip maybe with the way the economy is now the start @ $1.00 might be worth it, usually do no reserve becauses its cheaper to list.

Just like anything in a niche market, there are only a finite number of possible buyers and only a handfull who might actually buy. Then it's a matter of timing when your item and their eyes match up.
