I know this is going to sound dumb but I believe a dumb question is one that you don't ask. If you go to my racespace and look at the engine that I have as my default there are to lines on the intake (one on each side) that run from the front to the back of the intake......what are these lines for. I just recently got this engine (421sbc) and I have seen them on engines before but have never known what they were for. Thanks in advance for the help.

Sorry you can't see the pic. If I had an email I could send it to and have posted, that would be appreciated. I am just computer illiterate (sp?)
Thanks

Lines running rear to front or center to front are to make cooling a little more even. Not too critical in a drag motor, but may help a little.

I've found they help get air out of the system faster also. Especially with a lot of drag radiators being lower than the motor.
