I emailed him about the issue I had, car was supposed to have rollers rockers pulled off the valve covers and all it had was stock rockers and push rods. says he will own up to it, kinda spooked me at first but it may work out. he seems like a nice kid, just want to make sure there hasnt been any issues with other people. thanks for the input, its not a bad car and the trade was pretty fair. I just got a lil worried when I popped the valve covers off and there was stock rockers not rollers as advertised. he is sending me some rockers and I was gonna go thru the whole car anyways. the back half was done pretty decent and the rest of it just a little work here and there. I have bought a few cars off here but never traded, my listing was honest and detailed as it could get. So needless to say i was a little worked up when I started taking things apart. Jake has been very apologetic and is working with me to sort it out.

The last I was about to trade for an engine I was told callies crank, Oliver Rods Etc Popped off oil pan, Stock cranl and cat h beam rods. I never like to purchase an engine from an outside source. Just as stated above, maybe the guy that purchased it prior to you was fed a line of BS as well. Buy the parts and build them yourself. Thats the only way to know what you have in the engine

well, still have not recieved my rocker arms that his buddy supposedly removed from the car while it was stored at his house, he's not replying to my emails on RJ or outlook. so if the "checks in the mail" I have not seen it yet...

well I quess I was being to easy, after a week of no returned phone calls or messages I feel like I have been duped. I will list on here the messages we traded back and forth. Jake Hammond of Morgantown Kentucky is the person I dealt with on the trade. Car was supposed to have roller rockers but it did not, and he was supposed to ship them to me. Also was told the car was turnkey but it was far from it with no brake fluid in the master cylinder and the left rear wheel cylinder blown out. all light were supposed to be functional but the turn signal switch is busted off in the column and last but not least he never mentioned the car had a salvage/rebuilt title. Shame on me for not fully inspecting the car at the time of the trade but shame on him for not following up on his promise.

Just my opinion,but if he won't answer phone or emails,he looks guilty of more than just trading you a car without knowing what was inside the engine.....maybe he knew exactly what was(or was not)inside that engine...

If you have all your emails from the seller/trader committing to at a minimum the rockers and there is no proof of shipment or your receipt-I would take him to your local small claims court-its cheap to file (used to be about $25) and they handle claims under $1000 usually.

Not likely he will defend-but email him letting him know you are taking him to small claims and suggest that he engage local legal counsel to represent him.

If the deal went down as you said, you have written committments and thus proof and he did not fulfill his end of the agreement (contract), I would expect judgement to go in your favor-either as a direct ruling or due to his failure to defend.

Request a garnishment of wages from the Court and get your recovery that way.

No gaurantees but definitely worth a shot and by the way maybe the way you will ultimately recover what you are out, is through the amount of aggravation you cause Jake Hammond.

Time is money and the more time he has to invest in dealing with you the more it will cost him in time that he cant apply elsewhere like to his job or business.

You will thus collect one way or another; either is cash or in satisfaction.

Thats what I was looking for not the piece of junk I got traded. He removed the listing and is hiding in the shadows since all my buddies are hounding him and I have been relentless with the emails and phone calls. The only thing he didnt have in his listing that was on my original listing is the Camaros motor has about 175 passes on it. If you know anything about alcohol cars they need a lot of TLC so I dont know how many passes the old big block had left in her. I am hoping that it scatters on him the first pass he attempts to make and then I will have some form of redemption. Did you actually go look at my old car?

prostreetpreach jacked me around on a trade a couple years ago.Not saying he scammed me,or tried to,but he DID waste a lotta my time,and sometimes thats the biggest scam of all.I work swing shift and a lotta double shifts and I simply don't have time to waste on tirekickers like prostreetpreach.The trade he jacked me around over was gonna be a three way deal that he backed out on at the last minute(after SEVERAL emails,pic trades,etc-at least 3 weeks worth of garbage).Can you imagine if he'd backed outta the deal AFTER I'd made the trade FOR the vehicle he was supposedly wanting?

Just my opinion,but I wouldn't waste my time with EITHER of these clowns.

well just to keep the thread going and up to date. needless to say I never heard from prostreetpreach (will rogers) or ham10 (jacob hampton) ever again. I do want to thank everyone that hammered ham10 with emails and getting him stirred up. I never got that satisfaction since the wussy never had enough balls to answer his phone, emails or messages on racing junk. I quess that shows just how much of a man he isnt! Its a shame cause when he showed up to trade cars he had a smokin ars hot lil southen belle with him, maybe she needs to learn what a real man is OR from where he comes from she could have been his cousin or better yet his sister!
like I said before, lesson learned. I have to head down to louisville here in about a month, might have to take the long way through morgantown and look old ham10 up. maybe stop by and see he if has anything worth a buck or two he wouldnt mind missing. thanks again guys, the support on here has been tremendous!! I have noticed that he quit placing ads, maybe he got the point!

If people would do this it would keep these guys in check,It will notify RJ the sale or trade has been made,DO tell the value,and it will go against the guys account,it will show on his profile.Value sold or traded,then it will show honor payments recieved if they chose to make an honor payment,If they don't it only tells people he is dealing with what type of seller they are dealing with.

If the seller dukes RJ why wouldn't he duke you.This might be some thing you look at when you DEAL with people

People don't use the site to its fullest extent,they need to follow threw with all the deals they make on RJ

People need to report the sales or trades to RJ,it just keeps honest people honest

Thats why on the add you see amount sold and amount honor made....and quite a few have a bunch of ZERO's in both places on their adds

I appreciate the offer but not really much to do from this point on. I learned a tough leason on this deal, NEVER trust what they say. either have documentation or expect to at least take the valve cover, heads and oil pan off before buying or trading. Old Jake the Snake finally replied to a email yesterday. That only took 4 months, called me a pussy and told me to suck his you know what. I laughed it off and made sure he knew that he is pretty popular on the forum and as long as he keeps listing his junk I will advise everyone on here when he does.By the way, the Camaro is bad as hell along with the altered!!

Well Jake the Snake (HAM10) is back at it. Has his "buddies" engine listed here ad# 1519331. Also says he has it on ebay so I searched and found it. Asked him about parts reciepts and machine shop bills on the ebay ad. He replies his buddy will send them to the buyer AFTER the sale???? I again ask it would be nice to see the reciepts before the purchase but still says his buddy will mail them after the purchase.
