My friend claims he has 4.610x4.500 = 600 inches in a 9.8 Dart Big M block. I haven't seen the spare set of Ross pistons he has, but I think they should measure around 1" in height? And the rods are maybe 6.535?
Has anybody any experience or even heard before about 600cid in short deck block? How about the pistons, how will they last with only 1" height? He has been running it about 30 runs this year and the engine has been working fine.

Shafiroff is offering now 9.8 598cid engine:

My friends 600cid (4.610x4.500) has 6.385 rods, that's 1.42:1 rod ratio. Not that bad as it first sounds when many 632's have even little worse rod ratio (4.75 stroke, 6.700rod = 1.41:1).
