i have a 1974 vega and it does a outstanding wheel stand when it leave"s. it has a four link. if i drop the top bar down will that take that out of it? i want the shoot down the track effect instead of wheelstanding. i think that will improve the et.

I believe it will make it hit the tires Harder...I don't run a 4-link I use ladder bars but the principle should still be the same.

Down on the back at the rear end or down in the front where it hooks to the car? I am no chassis guy but I doubt it is as simple as that...meaning I think it is gona depend on your whole set up how it will effect it. JMO

You really need to look at the overall setup as in weight, HP, center of gravity, instant center, shocks, spring rates ect. If your overall setup is right then raising the top bar up in the front or dropping it in the rear will take some of the wheelie out of it.

While wheel stands are not good for steering, if they come down softly and don't compress the front suspension they don't hurt as much as some think. The problems come when you have to lift because of control problems or transferring weight from rear to front setting it down. This can unload rear causing loss of traction.
The cure. There is a balance of Center of gravity, Power and traction. These are the things that make wheel stands or not. While instant centers can effect traction some, it is usually not going to be the sole fix. More power needs more traction and lower, more forward COG to keep front under control and go fast. Giving up traction or power will keep front down, but it's not fast. This is the simple magic of a good working car. If you get the balance right, it makes you look like a wizard on suspension set up. As cars get faster, they get longer and lower and this is why. When you get tired of star gazing, move anything you can lower and forward. Especially lower.

You need to scale the car and see what the corner weights are. Just a simple spring adjustment or pre-load adjustment might take care of it. But you need to no what each wheel weight is.

Hi,
You asked, so let me bore you.
I am here now in bed taking on this new Dell puter. I keep moving around, and don’t yet have a place to stay. Right now I am in McKinney, Texas with my nephew temporarily. I am extremely week but can walk. Somehow I need to get some income started again and coming in to me.
Sure hope people will buy some of the few hard core parts I am WD on, so I can give great pricing and help me a little too.

Cell Phone (Mine) 972-464-7400 If you call me You will barely be able to understand me. All of my insides are burned out and are raw flesh for now. Throat-Tonsils-Tongue-right upper and lower jaw- area around my right ear- my tmj (jaw hinge is still messed up) I can not swallow anything and have stomach feeding tube, and a trach tube in my throat. I am a mess, but considering I am now supposed to have been already dead from my cancer, I am doing pretty well.
I am seeking a medical assisted apartment but the cost is too much so far. Very expensive. Maybe I can eventually find a medical and financial assisted place. That is what I need for now.
Somehow I have to find and open another shop. Don’t know how and don’t know when, but this is something that I must do for my own sanity. I am kind of wondering if now I could qualify for a US Gov grant? I am very much disabled and a vet of Vietnam. That should put in near the minority grant programs, I would think? Possibly I may need to recover much more, before I could be considered.
All for now.
