new msd 6a box problem

New 6a box matched up with Flamethrower hei distributor.Engine ran well before the install.Now the engine hesitates when reving up.I know of this prob with the 5 and 7 pin module in the distributor.There is a resistor that is needed to correct this prob for the 5 and 7 pin module.My module is a 4 pin and has the stumble,hesitation of the 5 and 7 pin.Any ideas why I have this problem?Thanks.

Take the module out, run the pickup coil straight to the MSD. You don't need the module.

Mechanic did not remove the module on install.Wired up for 4 pin and I made sure module was removed.Car idled fine and would not turn off when ignition is in off position.Wired the diode in and problems solved.Whom so ever purchase a 6a box for gm hei 4 pin module.Make sure you order pn 8860.Your going to need it.I was lucky the local speed shop had the part in stock.
